I guess that's nice. But the survey is like the potato chips question:  No one can choose just one. ( at least I can't for any of the questions I looked at before giving up )
But then, I suppose that's why I don't participate in the "survivor"  threads. I like just about everything at different times/moods.

I answered each question but didn't see an option to view the results. Did I miss something or are they not available to see?

Bgas - I'm with you.  Maybe we can choose from three? It is too large a corpus, to "pick just one!" Even three among all those selections would narrow things down and present a good idea of the enduring favorites.  They are all winners in my book anyway!   LOL

And what I really want for Christmas are some more adult beverage emoticons!   LOL

Merry Christmas BB/BW music lovers!  Enjoy your day!   Love

Isn't At My Window a Bruce lead, not Al?

Why no Morning Christmas as best Christmas track?

Fun survey. Looking forward to the results. Thanks for putting this together Peter.

some of the winning answers, excluding the N/As, were so typical  Roll Eyes how is "Do You Wanna Dance" Denny's best lead vocal  Huh (even though I love it) his voice was at its best in the late 60s early 70s.  And how is "Barbra Ann" the best cover  Huh "I Can Hear Music" was way better  Undecided

Plus a vast majority of the answers were N/A.

I noticed that people were saying that it was too long.

Disappointing to see how people were treating the survey in the end. To be fair, it was a tad lengthy.

Would like to see genuine results for these questions, though.

The results aren't listed in order or preference, which is pretty much a crock. Also, too long and way too specialised for Joe Q. Public, which of coruse makes the responses skewed to the point of unreliability. Example: it's a fine book, and an essential on any serious BB bookshelf, but there's no way in this world or any other that The Beach Boys Complete 45 and EP Cover Collection is better than Jon's book, PAC's book or the recent concert volume.

I guess the take away is that caring about the Beach Boys is not available for 75% of people who voluntarily fill in surveys.

I can understand slipping up and including "It's About Time" as one of the choices for "Best Dennis Wilson Beach Boys Era Lead Vocal".  I can even understand a person or two choosing it as their answer as a joke.  But 22 people?!?   Roll Eyes  I just don't get it.

Wow. That's news to me as well. For the longest time I thought that Meant For You was sung by Brian - as it sounds nothing like Brian I have no idea why I thought this LOL

I thought the same thing about Meant For You.

And yeah, I always assumed This Whole World was Brian. But now that I'm listening again, it's pretty obviously Carl.

Well, I suppose because Brian sings the first line of "This Whole World", and the first line is what makes the first impression, it's understandable. Same with the MiC version of "California Feeling".

Thanks to all who responded. The number of N/A answers is due to the people who use that site to rack up survey points for cash. Most of the reaction that was unfavorable was from that group. As for It's About Time, yup....screwed that one up. Brian sings lead on the bridge to This hole World, and carl does the verses, such as they are. The results were interesting, in that to the vast majority of respondents who DID answer each question, Surf Music is still what the Beach Boys are known for.

I don't know if anybody mentioned this but ill put it out there and see if it will fly.. A long time ago when BB were finishing up Surf's Up for inclusion on lp in 1971  I read this in a interview or book.. The tag at end of SU.. Brian came down stairs and added the words.. And he sang it also. The part with Children song  and  the children know the way.  Those lyrics .. He brought that out when none of the other BB knew those words existed .. BW sang that .. So the tag is Brian .If  I am wrong Jon or AGD or Cman or Mikie  please correct me .. Or anybody else..
