Surf's Up was one of the first BB covers I ever did, just about 4 years ago.  Now that I've learned about some obscure mixing and mastering techniques such as "EQ," "compression," and "not sucking at mixing and mastering," I've re-recorded it. This version will eventually end up on my SMiLE recreation--I was going to wait to post it, but I've got a crazy busy 6+ months ahead of me that won't allow for me to work on much music of any kind, so I thought I'd throw it online now. Have a listen (and wait for the third movement--I added a twist that I'm pretty confident would be Brian-approved)!

Great cover. Your voice is perfect for the song, and the music is very well done. I listened to your older version of the song, and you've definitely improved in those few years (though the old version is still pretty good).

Thanks so much for all the great feedback, guys. As someone with zero training on the trumpet/French horn, I think I might be more proud of pulling off those horn riffs than anything else in one of my recordings (not counting the Add a Some Music e-collab.. That's still my all-time favorite Smiley).
