i have He's A Rebel by Mark Ribowsky, but honestly I don't rate it - it seems very sloppily written, it passes over a lot and doesn't seem very well researched - I wish he went into more detail, it's like reading a wikipedia article in places. I've heard good things about Wall Of Pain, I keep meaning to pick that one up.

Thanks. The customer reviews on Amazon of HE'S A REBEL generally seem good…. so now I'm not sure what to do.

If you can pick it up cheap, I don't see why not - but it doesn't seem like I learned anything, unlike when I read the new Harry Nilsson bio or Catch A Wave or something.

"Tearing Down the Wall of Sound: The Rise and Fall of Phil Spector" was an incredible read.

I would recommend it highly.

I just recently read The Prince and the Pauper.
That was a pretty good book.

I've read all the Spector books that have come out by Richard Williams, Rob Finnis, Mark Ribowsky, Dave Thompson, Mick Brown and Kingsley Abbott. Seriously, as others have stated, 'Tearing Down the Wall of Sound' by Mick Brown is THE book to go for. It's really in-depth and beautifully written.

If you can find it, 'The Phil Spector Story' by Rob Finnis is also a very good read.
