"Hi. I'm Bryn Terfel, bass-bariton singer, and famous all over the world. But I must admit that I've always been terribly jealous of mr Michael Edward Love, who outclasses me in all departments. I've even contemplated letting his dinner be poisoned at one point, when my envy had driven me into deep depression. But I am glad that mr Love is alive and kicking.

Mike, you kick ass!

Love, Bryn."

Controversial opinion here, but I think ML has gone out of his way to protect the 'harmonious' image of the Beach Boys by not talking about Dennis much after his death. I think Mike really disliked Dennis and spares little time to mourn him. Quite wisely, he shut up about it rarther than open old wounds. I'm sure Dennis was as much an A*hole towards Mike as Mike could ever be to anyone. The newest interview where Brian states his only touring memory of them in Florida during the early days was Mike and Dennis fighting.

Kudos to Mike for burrying the hatchet.

California saga is amazing. I wish him and Al had worked more together. Even though the 3/4 version seems to trip him up a little it seems.

How can one person have so much talent?

Desegregation, Woodstock nation, good vibration, assassination, demonstration, battle station, cosmic creation, my generation...

You can tell me I need to get my mind out of the gutter but am I the only one who kept expecting him to say masturbation?

He still has both legs even after all of this time. And he can walk a quarter of a mile with the least bit of assistance. And he has the balls enough to wear a sailor hat in public without actually being a sailor. A toast to Mike Love, you come from a pretty good vocal group!

I don't like the fact C50 isn't a thing anymore...but I like his touring Beach Boys. A well done, cheap show that can be enjoyed by anyone.
And yeah, thanks for All I Wanna Do

How can one person have so much talent?

That's actually the first time I've ever heard that.

Did he really just sing "Good Vibrations, assassinations?"

And I thought Smart Girls was a nadir.

i h8 mike love.

So what are you doing in this thread? I h8 people who invade appreciation threads and post endlessly how wrong everybody is. I mean, I wouldn't even open a "The Private Life Of Bill And Sue" thread, let alone post there multiple times that I think it's the worst BB song ever released.

How can one person have so much talent?

I bet this song will become popular amongst hipsters in the year 2500.

I know some may find the fact I post youtube links annoying, but this is a good example of his multiple talents

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

I'd bet top dollar Mike also had a hand in the vocal melody....

Yeah, I agree. In the end though, the result of their writing was one of my favorite songs. It's a real gem.

If you're going to disagree, seems like some evidence would help in your argument...not just saying no and insisting you're correct  Grin

The first halves of the verses are the second worst thing on TWGMTR, but the gorgeous chorus saves the song for me.
