Yeah, I asked it.  Grin

If for some reason he wanted to finally release (and remaster) First Love, Country Love, Unleash the Love (the newer solo project), a re-release of Looking Back With Love, Catch a Wave, Salute to Nascar, and Summertime Cruisin'; would you purchase it?

Include singles: Jingle Bell Rock, Lets Party, Santa's Goin to Kokomo, Be True to Your Bud, and Hungry Heart as well.

Perhaps with bonus material from the likes of Mike And Dean material, Celebration, Endless Summer Band, and some live material of Mike and Bruce?

Would you purchase it for as much as they're selling MIC?

I would, of course, I haven't had the money to even buy MIC yet.

I would get it... but I'm not sure why I would get it.

Maybe not for quality's sake, but really on a curiosity level....

I'd probably spend about $50 at most on it.

No, but I probably wouldn't be able to resist downloading it if I came across a torrent.   Smiley

I'm only buying the Mike Love box set if it comes with an audio TM lesson from the master Lovester himself.

I'll only buy it if the box levitates.

That depends: Will 'Salute to Nascar' be included in regular-grade vinyl or 180 gram?

I most definitely would. I'm a completist, but in addition to that I'd be really interested to hear the stuff. After all, Mike is a talented songwriter, and the little I've heard of his solo material is miles better than anything he's done for the Beach Boys since Big Sur (aside from Kokomo and Sumahama).

I'd buy it! I'm a completist, and it still bothers me to this day that I was never able to get a genuine copy of Carl's first album on the Japanese pressing in 1990. I have Blondie's solo stuff, almost everything by Bruce that has officially been released on cd, and all the other bb solo stuff that has been officially put out there. I have 2 bootlegs of lbwl, which are both poor quality. So I'd welcome a boxed set like this. I'd pay $100 for a good quality release with all those albums mentioned. Throw in the Celebration albums,  and I'd make it $125

I'll pay $1000 as long as it has 5 different mixes of Rockin' the Man in the Boat!  LOL

If it contained Looking Back With Love, his work with Celebration and his stuff with Dean and was about a third the price of MIC then I would buy it.

I think the I cousin of everything Celebration would make it worth it. Not sure how much I would pay though.

I hate to say it, but I'm sure I probably would.

That said, I've been scavenging the internet to try to find a copy of that Summertime Crusin' album by Mike and Bruce. So I gotta admit I'm pretty weak on this kinda stuff. I just like having it. Why? I haven't a clue.

And while we're at it, anybody got a copy of Summertime Cruisin' to sell?

Biding time

Afraid I'd stump up. I think I have everything that's been mentioned above but mostly in poor quality. There's a heap of Mike & Dean and Mike & Adrian stuff as well "out there" but of the little I've heard I'd pay a bit extra to keep most of that OFF such a box set.

But I'd still prefer to see another Beach Boys set hit the market first.

Only if it was very cheap.

First Love and Unleash the Love deserve a release at some point.

Not Country Love or the stuff with Adrian Baker though that's for sure.

A better question:

Could anybody (including Mike Love) honestly listen to an entire Mike Love solo box set?

Of course I would, just as I would any other member of The Beach Boys. For me, Mike is the voice of The Beach Boys, and I can't imagine the band without him, so a solo box would be most welcome.

I wouldn't, nor would I buy a Carl, Al, Or Bruce box.

I would buy a Dennis box, if it wasn't too expensive. I would take the Mike, Carl, and Al boxes for free, and if you give me at least 10 Euros with it, I'll take the Bruce box too. That is, if the Bruce box would concentrate on his pre-BB work, I'll also take it for free. Cheesy
