Sorry! Alternate version of 'Meant For You' with new lyrics sung by Al....or Brian. Damn. My BB street cred is at risk here.
I'm really having trouble here. Sounds great, though.

Does anyone else hear a bit of Landy-era 'shouty' Brian in his vocals for 'Why Don't They Let Us Fall In Love'?

Sorry for asking, but I didn't get around to them today, are the mixing/editing errors in the '67 "Surf's Up" and the Smile Sessions "Cabin Essence" fixed, here?

The set is as expected and I don't mean that in a negative sense at all. Comprehensive would be the operative word. "Wouldn't It Be Nice To Live Again" while not deserving of the homage that some here give it, is a beautiful song nonetheless and a worthy addition to the canon. I'm amazed that both this and "California Feelin'" took so long to get squeezed out of the tube. Easily two of the strongest unreleased Beach Boys songs in the canon. You'd have thought they would have made an appearance on an archival set long ago, but good to have them here is outstanding sound quality.
As more of a sixties era, Beach Boys fan myself, the alternative version of "Don't Worry Baby" is certainly a highlight for me. I haven't gotten to the live performances yet as I want to listen to them in one sitting and haven't had the chance yet. The BBC material that closes out the set is awesome though, what lovely versions of some classic songs. It's nice that "Soul Searchin'" and "You're Still A Mystery" have finally made it to the general public as well. Strong songs and probably would've formed the backbone of an excellent Beach Boys mid nineties record if things had gone differently.
The packaging is top notch too. I wonder if the reason Bruce was left out of the headshots is because he didn't graduate from Hawthorne High School or they just didn't have access to a high school photograph of his? I would be remiss not to mention that there is a bittersweet element to this package on several fronts but I'm not going to dwell on those right now.
Final Word: If you can scrape up the money this is an absolutely enjoyable package to add to your Beach Boys collection. Since it essentially came through in terms of what it was advertised as being I would feel comfortable in giving it the ol' five stars.
So what's next? Maybe a Songwriter's Collection? AGD's list seems to indicate that there are a number of Beach Boys demos in the vaults that I would love so see released. A Brian Wilson demo of "'Til I Die" caught my eye and there seems to be an demo of version of "Wouldn't It Be Nice To Live Again" as well although the way AGD words it, it makes me think that particular demo is an instrumental.

Who was responsible for the sloppy ass autotune job on Brian's vocal on "You're Still A Mystery"?? When is Capitol gonna learn ?
Because of the ridiculous autotune, I'll have to refer to the bootlegs if I wanna hear this song. I could've given it an undetectable melodyne treatment for free out of the kindness of my heart in 10-20 minutes and made it sound 100x more listenable. Thanks for nothing guys!

It's Brian, and quite an unexpected highlight from the set for me!
Also interesting to note that the very beginning of It's OK sounds like that same riff used in Mike, Come Back To L.A. > Some of Your Love.

We had this picture awhile back and there was some speculation it may have been MIC related. Any reason on what has been heard, that this is the case?

So, I'm pretty sure it would be against the rules to ask for an mp3 or YouTube upload of Brian's California Feelin' demo, huh?

I'd delete that before you get the 7 day vacation in St. Louis.

Hey, question for those with the actual box; does it mention if it's mastered for HDCD?

Does the live version of All I Want To Do have a complete ending? Is it even the same recording that was issued on Rarities?

Complete ending meaning not a fade out?
Its a complete ending followed by Bruce, I think, saying "Goodnight". It does sound like a woman though.
I will have to listen to Rarities to compare.
edit
Not the same ending as this.

Pretty good singing by Bruce during SIP live. Man his voice has gone down hill in 20 years!

The version on Rarities faded out before the song was over. I think the story was that the tape ran out. So I'm curios if this is the same concert performance, but just from an alternate(complete) source. Or was the tape running out story another one of those myths that everybody believed for all these years? Or is the recording on MIC from a completely different concert than the Rarities one?

I can't hear any guitar difference to this version? Anyone pick a moment when Scott plays on the MIC version?

Probably the same person who thought it'd be a good idea to drop shouty 2004 Brian into the bridge of Soul Searchin'.
