Seems that the main difference in the new "Surf's Up '67" mix is that the vocal has less reverb.

How is "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling"?
A little too much digital sounding verb & delay for me. Still good to hear it in full fidelity with no hiss, etc.

What are the new lyrics added to the extended mix of Meant For You?
Have you ever seen a pony run alongside of his mother? And have you ever seen a puppy dog laying his head on his brother? Right on! Anyone notice a coincidence between these lyrics and somebody's signature?

If you didn't read the spoilers regarding "This Whole World (acapella)" - you have a big surprise coming your way at around 0:33!

Funny, I'd say Soul Searchin' may be my favorite song with Carl on leads, including GOK (but excluding Surf's Up...)

What's the story on "Why"? Sounds like it was recorded in the 00's or something...

MIU Sessions. But it has kind of a similar groove Brian has been mining the past decade e.g That's Why God Made The Radio, Live Let Live etc.

Start a free account here: openvpn.net/
Download the Private Tunnel software. Log in through the Netherlands. Open Spotify and look up the album.
Enjoy!
Tried it. It's still not working for me.

Hey Pixletwin, it didn't work for me on my Mac, but it did work on iPad and iPhone...
Download the app, then download the server profile you want to use (in this case, Netherlands) and you will connect to the VPN. Then Google "Made in California" Spotify, and you will see the links, which will open in the Spotify app. (I wasn't able to find them from within the app).
Also, I don't know if this makes a difference, but I created a Spotify account on the Netherlands version of the site (spotify.com/nl)
Happy listening!

Thanks b00ts. I still can't get it to work. It's ok. The set should be delivered to me on Monday, so I can just sit tight and wait until then.

I got it to work perfectly on Mac.
Just make sure you log in on spotify.com and change country to the Netherlands in your profile settings. Then log out, re-start Spotify and log in if necessary. "MIC" should appear doing a regular search.

So here's the question: the two 90's tracks... Could we have had Pet Sounds "2"?

REALLY DIGGIN' the stereo version of Wild Honey! Fantastic work by Linett, Boyd, and Wolfe on this set! So much here! I think a Grammy award is in line here! Just great! Moving on to Disc 3 now! A career spanning box set? Yeah??!!! We still need a LIVE box, though.

I love how a lot of the hits on the set have "little extra bits" before or after the song.

Just realized that BW's vocal quality in "California Feelin' 74" sounds identical in "Rollin' Up To Heaven". Still sounding late 60's - early 70's-ish, but slightly deeper sounding.
These are the two tracks that link early Brian to the post-change Brian.
And even still, it seems like quite a jump down from these two tracks to say.. "Back Home".
Crazy that we actually have this now. So I guess the definitive "missing link" that shows significant change would have to be the rumored version of "In The Back Of My Mind" from '75.

Hey, I think most of you Smiley Smilers will be really happy with this set. Stereo 'Darlin'? Those vocals are SWEET! The same with Stereo 'Let The Wind Blow". All of the new STEREO mixes are great! 'Do It Again' in stereo? wow..... Alternate version of 'Meant for You"? New song? Different lyrics? Nice job by Mike. No spoiler here. Just take a listen. Nice alternate version of "Break Away". my favorite of that song. The new mix of 'SUSIE CINCINNATI" IS BLOWING ME AWAY!! It first came on and I said 'What the....!!!" Al gets some more justice. Linett and Boyd have done a great job! I'm very happy that 'Soulful Old Man Sunshine' made the box. It's becoming one of my favorite BB Songs. Haven't heard it in a while. Great! I'm a big fan of Dennis. 'Sound Of Free' coming up next. Soon on to disc 4. Be patient everyone...it'll be here soon. (Got lucky that a record store in my town had one)
