CHUG - A - LUG
uuuuuuuuuuughhhhhhhhhh
Any song with the lyrics "give me some root beer" deserves to be sent straight to hell.
Any song? What if you learned today that the non-English backing vocal in "I Just Wasn't Made for These Times" translates to "give me some root beer"? Another vote for "The Shift".

"A/S/L"? "Age:24. That's when Brian Wilson made Pet Sounds. Sex: Brian Wilson was having loads of sex with Marilyn when he made Pet Sounds. Location: Gold Star Studios, where Brian Wilson assembled with the Wrecking Crew to make Pet Sounds. Hbu?"

Since I live in New Jersey and am surrounding by high quality root beer at Stewart's Drive In I kinda like "Chug-a-lug."
The Shift gets my vote (again)

I have a Weber's Root Beer Drive-In near me in South Jersey, as well. So, The Shift takes the hit this round.

It's weird, I completely forgot about this album. For some reason, I always think of Surfin' USA as the first Beach Boys album. I mean I've heard this album and I know it's their first album and yet it's such a mediocre effort. Besides its title track and the historical fact that it was the first Beach Boys album, it just has so little going for it.

But what about the eventual winner of Survivor #1, 409?

Head You Win - Tails I Lose
Arrrghhh to "The Shift"'s departue. I think it's the album's closest indicator to what was coming next musically (great Dave and Carl interplay), and the vocals step it up a bit with Mike in better form than some of the other numbers.
All great tracks.
