I've always liked certain elements of "Here She Comes" but I generally lack the focus to hang on for more than 4 minutes. This is my 3:59 edit which helps me not getting bored. I've shortened the intro, cut the second verse, sped the song a little and removed a few of the "rolling down the road" refrains. I also took Blondie moaning under the second "giving to you can you dig me?" section and relocated it to just before the outro.

The sped up "Surfin'" has period, AM radio sounding charm, though its brittle sound occasionally does hurt to listen to, which is why I sought to create a cleaner mix. To achieve this I sped up the Hoffman
Lost and Found
remaster to digitally emulate what was achieved for the
Surfin' Safari
LP. I think this results in a punchy, more natural sounding mix.

Hopefully this may be of interest to some of you here, even though I was just sort of goofing around with it. I was playing with Acid Pro 7 and thought it might be fun to do a dance remix of a Beach Boys song, but the only one I could come up with that had any sort of a real dance groove to it was Dennis's "Pacific Ocean Blues". So here's my attempt to do a vintage '77 disco remix of that song. Apologies in advance!

Haha this got some grooooove!
btw here is a River Song edit I made a few days ago:

Has anyone attempted a fan mix of "Lady Lynda"? I always felt the song dragged a bit. Maybe it could fade out like the "Lady Liberty" version?

Did this a while back and forgot to post! Extracted the mono vocals from the early vocal version of WIBN and put it over the stereo backing track.

Recently discovered the first version of the Slip On Through backing track cut at Gold Star, so I decided to try to sync up the a capella mix of the song from MiC to the original backing track to approximate what it might have sounded like if they had used the original.
https://soundcloud.com/zachrwolfe/slip-on-through-original-gold
Nice! Great sync job.

Hey there everyone... Since in the wake of the positive reaction of my Dennis POB remix, one or two of you asked me to mix up "Match Point". I didn't want to have to do it, on account of the fact that my heroes The Avalanches beat me to the punch. However, I just cut a mix where I worked it in unintentionally, but it fit. I love that song, and if you guys want to hear the finished product, you can check it here:
http://alti2de.bandcamp.com/track/lakeshore-avenue
The "Match Point" sample kicks in at about 1:55 and dominates the fade.
If you all like what you hear, please go ahead and listen to the demo mix of the album I'm creating. Influences are many, but let's just say the main ones are artists like The Avalanches, Miami Horror, Air and Glass Candy... Please note I like very trippy music, and it may take a few minutes to get where I'm coming from, so please let it play through for a good 5-10 minutes, and I think if you give it that much of a chance you might dig where I'm coming from. It's a hugely diverse LP, let's just say that. Headphones or a really good stereo system are recommended. Thanks, and indulge yer selves if you dare!
The Whole Thing (start with track 1 and let it play through):
http://alti2de.bandcamp.com/
Thanks again!

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

very nice! I'm hoping to make such a mix myself. Cool idea to use the POB reissue version with Taylor Hawkins vocals. They really work for Dennis in that period.
i hear you used my Good Timin' mix with the more prominent guitar because of the edit at the end of the first verse was bad by me. I redid it though so feel free to use this one:
https://soundcloud.com/alexander-t-king/good-timin-mix1
also did an alternative for River Song if you're interested:
https://soundcloud.com/alexander-t-king
It's a huge, huge shame Out In The Country and Carry Me Home have nothing better in terms of quality for us to listen to. In my mix I'll use the Goldberg version of Out In The Country if only for the improved audio quality, not arrangement.

What's the difference between this "alternate River Song" compared to the one ShangaijoeBB used? I don't hear anything that's obviously different.

I mixed both, if you hear the at the end of the first verse the two tracks that were mixed get out of sync before a sudden correction. Also, the backing vocals during the chorus are not done well in the first one.

Pardon if I've missed it, but has anyone created an all-instrumental SMiLE before? I wanna say yes, but I can't remember...

my mix of "Adult/Child" is now online!

(yes I used the ''Millenium'' version of Life is for the living because the sound quality was better and IMO that horn intro kick ass!

Has anyone ever mixed "God Only Knows" using the 1996 stereo remix with the extended a capella ending? Seems like a natural fit.

So I was looking for something on my hard-drive and accidentally stumbled upon something I did over a year and a half ago and completely forgot about! I think the reason I didn't post it back then is because I wanted to complete it, with all the instruments from the original song intact. I don't really feel like doing that now, but when I found this I immediately thought that it qualified for "Cool Fan Mix" status. Without further ado, here's my mix of part of Vega-Tables in a minor key:
https://soundcloud.com/zachrwolfe/minor-vegetables/s-mugSf
This is the coolest thing EVER.
