Five Songs for MIC

Just because I'm a bastard for lists - and curious to know what others would want (I'll be buying it, honest), which five unreleased songs would you like to see on MIC?
1. Big Sur (early version)
2. Oh Lord (the 85 version, which I haven't heard, of course)*
3. Carry Me Home
4. Lines
5. Lookin' Down the Coast
*If it was finished; if not, I'll take Stevie instead - though if Come to the Sunshine could be found...
Ask me tomorrow and I could come up with another five!

I'm surprised "Carry Me Home" isn't included on MIC. When I heard it at Boyd's house I thought it was more intense than WIBNTLA.

Prolly the most intense song the BB ever did IMO.

Little Red Book
Lonely Days (if a more complete version exists)
Anything else a cappella

I'm surprised no one has mentioned (in any thread that I've seen) the instrumental When Girls Get Together. The lyrics destroy the song, IMO, but the track itself is very nice, and good enough to stand on its own.
Same thing for Salt Lake City. The vocals are nails on a chalkboard to me, but the instrumental is fantastic.
Would have been great to hear a version of Little Pad without the stoned laughter, but maybe that does not exist.
Gotta say I'm surprised to see people want things like It's a New Day and It's Trying to Say. To my ears, both sound like TV commercials at best, and that off-key crescendo in It's Trying to Say is surely embarrassing to the group.
Was hoping for Carry Me Home, but aside from sq issues, it seems like it still needs work. The opening is too abrupt, and it's a dirge from start to finish.

I've heard it said on here that Carry Me Home was dropped from the final track-list because Brian found it too upsetting...
Is this just rumours or is it based in fact or what? It seems likely really, considering how Brian is on record as having been so affected by Dennis' death and what with the song containing lyrics such as 'I'm afraid to die'.
But it's a pity because it's a
stunning
song.

It's a shame, but at least "Carry Me Home" is fairly common in the hands of "collectors".

I guess my 5 would be:
Carry Me Home
Big Sur
My Solution
It's Trying To Say
We Got Love
though honourable mentioned goes to:
Stevie
and I've Got A Friend
It's kind of hard to believe that a set that has a whole bunch of unreleased tracks wouldn't include the above seven.

Songs that have been on my wish list for years that will be included on MIC:
Wouldn't It Be Nice To Live Again
Back Home (1963)
Back Home (1970)
Rock And Roll Music (w/extra verse)
Sandy/Sherry She Needs Me
You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling
Sound Of Free
California Feelin'
Amusement Parks USA (Early Version)
Soul Searchin'
You're Still A Mystery
Darlin' (stereo)
Wild Honey (stereo)
Good Vibrations (stereo)
Songs on my wish list that didn't make the cut:
Big Sur (alt.)
Carry Me Home
I've Got A Friend
Add Some Music To Your Day (alternate version)
Come To The Sunshine
It's Trying To Say (Baseball)
What'd I Say (live '64)
The Surfer Moon (early version)
Honda 55
Sherry (4 Seasons cover)
With A Little Help From My Friends (corrected speed)
Rock & Roll To The Rescue
We Got Love (studio)
The Letter (studio)
I Was Made to Love Her (w/accapella bridge)
Girl Don't Tell Me (alt.)
Blowin' In The Wind
Riot in Cell Block #9
Sea Cruise (or On Broadway)
Wouldn't It Be Nice (Monterey '70)
You've Got To Hide Your Love Away (Live Michigan)
Anything from the Wally Heider sessions '67
Anything from the four concerts recorded (East Coast 11/67)
Anything from the Carnegie Hall '72
Anything from the Caribou sessions ('74)
Anything from Beachago ('75)
Anything from the 'Unplugged' rehearsals or Paramount Theatre ('93)
Wild Honey album in stereo
"Our Favorite Recording Sessions" entire recording (version on ASL is edited).
I once read an interview with Bruce who said The Boys recorded an accapella intro to "I Get Around". Not sure if it survived, and not sure if it's the "intro" to the song that's going to be on MIC, but if its out there, I'd like to hear it!

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Very happy with the box and will be getting it. My
wants
are mainly songs that I fear, for obvious reasons, will now
never
see an official release.
1. Hard Times
2. It's A New Day
3. Honkin' Down the Highway (Billy vocal)
4. Good Timin' (Dennis vocal)
5. In The Back Of My Mind (70's version)
* honorable mention - Here She Comes (modern day remix) *
As for five songs I think they
should
have included:
1. We Got Love
2. Big Sur (early version)
3. Jumpin' Jack Flash (live)
4. Chasing the Sky
5. Somewhere Near Japan
And for good measure, how about a list of five (or ten
) songs you'd be most willing to sacrifice? Here's mine.
1. Lonely Sea
2. Our Car Club
3. Ballad Of Ole' Betsy
4. Girls On The Beach
5. All Dressed Up for School
6. Salt Lake City
7. Wonderful (2012 Stereo Mix)
8. Let Us Go on This Way
9. Solar System
10. Why Don't They Let Us Fall In Love

The studio version of We Got Love is pretty lame. We've already got the live version from In Concert which is far superior.

The same could be said of the different mixes of "Brian's Back" and yet there we are. At least in the case of "We Got Love" it's a completely different performance. ...Of a song recorded by the Beach Boys. ...That was initially released on a studio album in a VERY small quantity, never to be seen again. ...Representing a little known era of the band.

Well it's not unreleased, but I think the 45 version of School Days should have been included. It was on the uk cd release of 10 years of harmony, . Which I found at a used record shop years back, but I passed it up because I already had the U.S. release. The one biggest regret I have in my music collecting.
I also agree with those mentioning big sur and its trying to say.
Also if there was a finished take, or even a demo, of Mike come back to LA, that would have been cool to hear
