This does not surprise me one bit. Most people my age and older don't really buy all that much music and the age group that still does don't follow the band in enough quantity to jettison this CD up the charts. For this to have done better, it needed the QVC type push that was given to TWGMTR.

2013 has been such a bummer so far. Bring on MIC!

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Yes, exactly.

I would also add that it seemed to be mistimed, just a bit?  At least they didn't wait till the end of summer or early September -- but still this might have done a little better if it was whipped out while the tour was still fresh on the minds of the folks.  We've had a long winter and a cold spring.  But maybe if they did some special interviews -- which led to a Rolling Stone cover, or something.  It's actually a really good release (I'll be blasting this all summer long!!!!)  I mean, for real -- this was a pretty big deal to have all of them together.  Could have certainly been more, I guess.

But #94 is better than I thought, given what was or wasn't done, promotion-wise.

Typical Beach Boys business - release the album long after the momentum is gone. I doubt Mike and Bruce will make any mention of it at their shows.

I doubt The Beach Boys have too much say on when CDs get released. Ultimately, that is a Capitol/UMe decision. Even TWGMTR should have been released the week before Memorial Day last year. It should have been ready before the start of the Summer season, not after.

No promotion, released nearly a year after the tour, terribly executed.

Deserves to vanish without a trace. I can't lie I haven't even bought it yet.

According to someone who would know.

Seriously, there was a Beach Boys Love You condom?!  Amazing.

I wish I could debut at #94. This release was never gonna be huge or set the world on fire or anything even if the final product is a total mess in many a spot.

A 2013 Beach Boys live album charting at #94, and that comes as a surprise to some people? Really? I'm surprised it charted at all. To the mainstream public, this is just another cd with the same old hits that were already on a zillion compilations - except now the guys sound old.

And I don't think it's bad marketing that this was released a year after the tour. Nobody releases an album a couple of months after it's recorded. And the best time to release a Beach Boys album is, and has always been, just before Summer.

And this has what to do with The Beach Boys latest live album? Perhaps I should promote my own musical projects on a Beach Boys forum as well?

Multiple posts in another thread predicted a top 10 or top 20 showing.

And for that matter, given the placement of TWGMTR last year, this summer's showing is pathetic.

No promotion = no sales. No wonder the record companies are struggling.

Maybe if I had bought mine by now it would have debuted at #93!
