Cool.  I am pretty sure the one of him next to the microphone is from a 65 session and therefore should come after (not before) the 64 uk picture.  I am also pretty certain the shot of brian in red Hawaiian shirt is from 68 and should therefore proceed the last 1972 shot

If you go to that link-I question a few of there choices too-I don't think the shot labeled 1969 is 69 (probably 68 as well) and the 1971 may also be from the 68 period.

I have the 1969 image from a magazine (it's a scan) in which it said "1969" right above the picture. That's all the confirmation I have. As for the alleged 1971 image: I had several people judging it as a 1971 shot. If you've got better sources - I'll be glad to change stuff around / make it more accurate. police

I have a lot of stuff which I collected when writing my book including some 69 shots of brian and I think that shot isn't 69 but i cannot categorically rule it out. But let meention that dates online and in magazines are often wrong. When I first went on Getty archives all there photos were misdated.  I wrote to them and they admitted they didn't have photo info for the pics they owned.  They allowed me to recaption a lot of them but many are still inaccurate

Sure, anything can be dated inaccurately. Wink It simply was the only source I had - but it was a source, after all. Thanks anyway for your input.

One that I can categorically say is wrong is the 1984 shot.  Brian didn't shave off his beard (other than for the 1980 Knebworth show) until May 1985.  He had a beard all through 1984. That shot is I believe from 1988.  I also think (but can't 100% say) that the 1985 shot is from 1986-indeed he looks almost identical to the shot from the Rock and Roll to the Rescue vid you used for 86.

If there's a book that I'm really looking forward to the most, it's Ian's and Jon's.  Can't wait for June!  We can always use accurate information on The Boys.

The Beach Boys in Concert: The Ultimate History of America's Band on Tour and Onstage.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Oh, you're right about the fake 1984 one - that one isn't supposed to be there, of course that's from 1988. Thanks for spotting that. I'll get right to it.
I'm not sure about the 1985 one as well, I have to say.

P.S. Looking forward to your book, too.

If you can find a pic from Live Aid that is from 85 of course.  Good pics of him playing the 4th of July in 84 (with beard-all in white) in many books.

I'm pretty sure the 1969 photo is from the Busy Doin' Nothin' session.

The red flower shirt shots were taken Spring of 1968. Marilyn is pregnant with Carnie in one of them.  The one here is reversed btw.

I love Brian's 1972 look. He also looked great at Live Aid 1985.

The one listed as 1992 looks like it's from the "Lay Down Burden" video from the 1998 Imagination DVD, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_cdDzr48JE.
