PMs and the sharing thereof.

Was about to post this on the Mike/Examiner thread, but it got locked. Simply, irrespective of those involved, the content and direction, the P in PM stands for private, thus to share on a public forum, either directly or in a redacted form, is just not on. Older posters here may recall a ruckus some years ago caused by a mod - or it may have been Chuckie himself - sharing PMS: that nearly killed this forum.

I agree. There is not a rule directly stating it (closest is #5) but I too remember those issues very well.

Yeah that was chuck. And for the record, I cannot see anybody's PMs except those I am sent. I'm going to amend that rule later today as it is too vague.

That's interesting, as I'm sure I was told back in the day that all the mods can see all the PMs. In fact, the ruckus was caused by Chuckie airing the contents of such a PM.

Its different with him as he is the board owner. His profile is set up differently. None of the mods can see them though.

I also remember being told that mods can see pm's. Although I can't remember who told me. It may have just been a mistaken board member.
