I've got an eighties copy that has no yellow text at all.  All the text is white except "capitol" and "stereo" in black

That's not fair. I would reclaim my money if I were you.

On the Surfer Girl album cover none of them are wearing shoes, and the surfboard is upside down. This means they all died in a Murry related accident shortly before 1962 and were replaced by replacements.

You mean these replacements, Stephen?

Nah man, I would have noticed!

Arghhh, what is late 60's Richard Thompson doing in an early 80's hair band?

Left side is from the 180g vinyl cover, right side Heartical Don's version.

Is it just me, or was Al's nose also reduced in size?  LOL

On our way through this "backstage" maze, Bruce joined up with the group and said hello, singing "It Never Rains in Southern California" and joking with some of the older ladies. I'm not sure if they knew he was a Beach Boy or simply an enthusiastic elderly gay gentleman.

Be careful. We're talking the man whose speech blooper paved the way for official TSS announcements. He might refrain from doing the same regarding MiC.

He's proud of his proboscis, you know?

I object to that label: Cracked.com

Who'd ever release such a Meisterwerk on such a dodgy indie label?

Now, if it had been Sub Pop I could have made an exception.

Where have I seen a Pet Sounds cover with more around this photo such as an animated giraffe? What was that version for?

There was something like that in the Beautiful Dreamer documentary, I think.

This is like a "Paul is dead" thing. Maybe we could start a "Mike was dead" urban legend.

IMHO that's a foregone conclusion. Who knows? This photo could actually represent reality, and the 'real' pic might be forged. See: I assume that mr Love was, at the time of the photo shoot in that insignificant zoo in Nowheresville, in the studio, working his *ss off to realise the next and ground-breaking psychedelic Meisterwerk of the Boys.

In the original pic they all wore striped shirts and Murry was stood in Mike's place.  I think the album would have had a greater impact if they'd not photoshopped the striped shirts out.

Also Brian should show Carl a little respect and not use his little brother's head for an elbow rest.

Just checked my copy, mine's the same. A quick Google search shows that this edition (catalogue no. EMS 1179) is a DMM stereo edition, the label is black with rainbow rim (80's Capitol Green Label ?). My question to the forum : is this version considered any good ? Is it worth shelling out for a copy of  the CATP/PS vinyl 2fer for comparison ?
