Tomorrow – Thursday – 7pm, in the UK at least, they'll announce this year's Record Store Day releases for April 20.

What's the betting there'll be a Beach Boys' disc in there as a taster for MIC, just as there was the Heroes/Vibes 10" double 78rpm set in 2011.

Maybe Wouldn't It Be Nice to Live Again b/w California Feelin' '74  (or maybe Good Vibes '66 backed with Barbara Ann…!)

I've heard from someone who should know* that there'll be a one sided 10" teardrop shaped vinyl of Drip Drop.

If it's a taster for MIC, they should wisely hold it back a few decades.

There are sites that have lists of releases for Record Day "so far," which means there could be more to come. So far, no Beach Boys on the list.

I'm confused. Is this thread talking about an upcoming announcment of a Beach Boys record for Record Store Day, or just a thread annoucing the announcment of Record Store Day?  Huh

Hoping for news of a BBs disc.   We've had one each in 2011 & 2012; hoping for a triple whammy.

How about a triple Grammy?

Don't give up hope – there're usually late-comers to the party even though it says the list is complete.  No sign here of the Neil Young release (unless that's US only, which'd seem mean…)

Note the VDP release: Van Dyke Parks - Super Chief: Music For The Silverscreen - LP + CD.

If no BBs product this year of MIC, then I'd reckon sadly missed promotional opportunity.

After the 10" gatefold last year, a single promoting MiC would have been a great idea. WIBNTLA/California Feelin'?

Oh well-for me, it's all about the Chas n Dave rabbit shaped 7" of, ahem, "Rabbit"

What's this Neil Young release you speak of? I've read that Old Ways is getting an LP re-release but as much as I like that album I don't think I'll get it again. The Big Star "Nothing Can Hurt Me" release is apparently US-only which upsets me greatly I must say. A BB's release would be great, remember there's always the Black Friday RSD - although I'm sure most here would hope we'd have some word on the box by then Tongue

Songs For Parents Who Enjoy Drugs was a great album.

Yes it was - I saw him in concert promoting that album. The only vinyl I've ever seen of Hamell is from a long time ago when he still had hair.

Yeah, I'd like to hear a different version of "Spring Vacation". Why not.  It has grown to be a guilty pleasure of mine (much like the Still Cruisin' record). Something somewhat 'stripped down' maybe, I hated the whole production sound on TWGMTR.

P.S. Welcome to the board, petzounds1!

Tangentially related, but today I found that Van Dyke Parks' Song Cycle will be released in mono for RSD. Numbered. Am interested in the mono mix, if only because it'd be even stranger in a way - the severe stereo separation of Song Cycle gives it a lot of its flavour. Can't seem to find mp3's of the mono, either.

There's also a new orchestral work called Super Chief, which I'm super hyped for. These might actually get me into a record shop on RSD?!

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.
What is this "life" thing you speak of ?
