If you seriously need "emotional armour" for this forum, you would be best to spend the rest of your life hiding under your bed.  Sure, this board has had its share of a-holes (like myself) as well as a few Nancys, but c'mon guys. This is just a message forum. If you get that bent out of shape over the comments of a few faceless nerds over the Internet, that's probably a good sign that you need to get out in the sun a little more and breathe some of that oxygen.

So, we're "AGD's board guys"? When did that happen? I think that is a totally unfair summery of who we are as individuals. No offense, Andrew, I always read your posts (for the good or bad) but I don't take them any more serious than anybody else's posts.

I decided to leave their fan page alone as it seems to be yet another disagreement between one person and Andrew. I'm just going to forget that it even exists.

I read that as well. My 12 year old son is autistic and home schooled via Nevada Virtual Academy. I'll keep other comments to myself on this matter.

When I checked that Facebook page for the first time I was expecting to side with the OP of this thread but I can't really. Labeling a photo 'beautiful' is a trivial thing and it's sad that some people can't deal with her opinion. Several of the posts that followed did show a lack of civility and they were probably right to start banning people.

It was me who made the 'psychotic' quip. In response to some frankly ludicrous replies to my original statement that i did not think the photo was beautiful. I'm not upset at getting banned, i just thought her defensiveness was ridiculous and certainly was not open to discussion. She could have just said she thought i was out of line. Allan Hero is my friend, all round good guy and huge beach boys fan. We have been to many Brian Wilson gigs together. He posted saying he thought the bannings were childish and got banned for it!

Oh no. I'm torn. I recognize too many posters on there to cause trouble. And yet everybody is correct on the way they talk over there. A couple of quotes:

I've had just spent 30 minutes of my valuable life on that site , and YES its puke inducing - I am not naming names but I have come across many of these people over the years (and even had arguments with them about Brian and how is he is not normal BUT they just won't have it) and sadly and certainly not being sexist but the vast majority of the non-realists are women (sorry to all the good women here).One certain women thought she knew everything BB's so at a certain diner party in Glasgow some ten years ago I slipped a certain 7" EP that came with the Holland album (anybody know it ??) on the house stereo (In my eyes classic BW) and she said she had never heard it before and thought it was sh*t - Nuff Said

Well....  In the end, she started the page and she can do whatever the hell she wants with it.  If people came on my FB page, whether it was a fan thing or not and I didn't like what they were saying, I would delete them.  I'm not saying what she does on there is right, but as I said it's her page and she can do what she wants.  (I assume it's her page!!)   I'm sure if Brian and crew don't like it (as apparently they haven't like posts on here before) then they will say somethign or whatever to her.

More like unnecessary bullying. I keep coming back here looking for some kind of explanation, some sort of redemption. This has somehow escaped the radar.

Looks like I registered on here a good while ago which I'd clean forgotten about.  Had to check this out as I was clearly intended to be banished here!!

I just happened to get involved at the tail-end of the discussion and expressed surprise at what had happened.  To be honest, apart from expressing a different point of view about the picture there really was little to get fussed about, but it was the moderator who was unwilling to let others express a contrary view without challenging it.   And it was also her who started making personal comments first as well.  I would disagree with her thoughts about Brian from that period, but some of the most captivating and arresting pictures of Brian have come from his darker period.  Which is not the same as saying they are "beautiful".

Anyway, my comments that the bannings were a stupid and childish response got me banned in about thirty seconds flat.   I only found out by being tagged in her post (the one quoted earlier) which also managed to give me more prominence in this than my meagre contribution justified.

I still "like" the page on Facebook so still see all the stuff that comes through.  Just can't comment but that's no great loss - I only did this very sporadically any way.  There's not much fresh coming up via that route and most of it is shared from other sources.   

However, I would say that it is her page and she can run it the way she wants but her tolerance levels of any views different from her seems somewhat low which makes her peculiarly unqualified to moderate such a page.
