Hey guys,

Rab and I have been working on a tune for quite some time, and it's finally finished. It makes it's debut here, for all you fine people....

I came up with the song idea, lyrics, and vocal melody. Rab found the chords and built the backing track. It was a pleasure working with him because he had the same vision that I did for the song, so it came out very Pet Sounds, Spector, 60s influenced.

Hope you enjoy it, and feedback is welcomed and appreciated.

Very nice. Those timps playing the last 8th note before the chorus are very PS like, as are those castanet sounds, which is cool. I like the use of minor (or even diminished chords??) in there; really kind of subverts the whole summery breezy vibe coming from the the acoustic strum and the nice piano arpeggios.

Let's hear more. Smiley

Thanks guys!

I had a great time working on this track with EgoHanger - Castanets were his idea, gives it a great spector feel. I've got no idea what chords were used (I just play by ear).

Hopefully we'll get another song out soon

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Does Soundcloud now require an account to listen? That link brings me to a page with rotating tracks and commercials, but there is a sign-in / sign-up option. Am I stupid enough that I'm just missing something (feel free to answer that honestly...  Grin ) or does it indeed require an account now?

Thanks, that worked.

Nice job, guys. I really like the contrast from the less heavily instrumented "the girl is on my mind" (castanets part) going into "a way to keep away now." The voice there is especially good, too. Enjoyed it.

Great song guys (I assume EgoHanger is a guy).  I really liked it.  Is that Rab singing?  If so, a bit higher than I am used to hearing him sing.  Honestly, I'm a bit jealous, quite a bit.  Keep it up, and please keep posting your stuff here.

I am a guy (looks downwards to confirm - yes! I am a guy), and that is me singing lead. Rab on all those harmonies. Thanks for your really nice comments.

Very beautiful, and dreamy, like all the best music is.
Wonderful job you two!
