Was the power outage genuine, or staged?  Easier, after all, and cheaper than having the studio engulfed by flames, Scott, Nicky and Jimmy burned aline and THEN having Jeff say: "good job Brian wasn't here."

Given the creative editing present in other parts of the DVD, there has to be a suspicion.

I'm not familiar with this. Could you point, at an example, please?

[* backstage after the first night I asked if there was a contingency plan in the event of Brian pulling a no-show. "Sure", was the reply, "we'd start and keep playing until he came out". But what if he didn't ? Broad grin. "Oh, we'd just do it anyway and figured you'd all understand".]

Couldn't they try to put his dinner behind his microphone? Grin

The sequence as presented has Macca greeting Brian backstage before the first night. Never happened: Macca attended the 4th night.

Second night, or else the guy I met was a damn good impersonator. He was in row 12 with George Martin.

I regret not asking him if he was here to steal the rest of it. LOL

4th night - I wasn't there second night and he (& George) was sat six, seven rows behind me. 4th night was the original last night, until the tickets sold out as fast as you could blink.

Whatever, 2nd or 4th - it wasn't the first night and frankly I expected better than that of the producer.

It will have been poetic licence. All roads lead to the first night as the culmination of the story, and I suppose the Macca footage was too good to miss out. David Leaf has been good enough to give me meet and greet tickets on three different occasions, so I forgive him.

In some respects I don't see it as much different to a a live DVD or album being sourced from many different performances, but I also see it as frivolus editing, if they wanted to show McCartney there, show him there, there's no need to pretend it was from a night he wasn't actually there other than for looks.

I never had a problem with that either.. it makes a better story arc that way. For Brian and SMiLE, I mean.
