Besides it's a cool memento from the '78 tour to go with a few other bits and pieces I have.  A very good friend of mine, and still a hard core fan, spent quite a bit of time with Dennis in Christchurch.

Back when I first read the Priess book I thought that jacket was just so cool and would have got one, minus the BB related logo, if I could get one. (70s fashion...you had to be there!)

I went to the Christchurch show and was at school at the time. Any stories you or your buddy can tell on a public forum? Wink For anyone interested, the stadium was semi destroyed in the earthquakes of 2011/12 and demolished in the last few years, as was probably the hotel and any drinking holes used by the band in 78.

haven't really thought about it, to be honest. at one point in time I was collecting stubs, then I just stopped. and only bought full tickets from then on.
Recently purchased two what turned out to be stubs from Fred Vail, thinking initially they were full tickets;
based partially on his description/partially on my wishful thinking, I suppose.

But as nice as this japnaese stub looks, it's not high on my list of desirables

For this one I'd be interested in some comment from Lee Dempsey/ Jon Stebbins/Jim Murphy/ AGD/ ?? as I don't have any idea to the answer:
Would The Honeys refered to on this handbill have been OUR group and participating in a Shindig tour?

Wow, I remember Marilyn mentioning that she was friends with Dick and Dee Dee...and I seem to recall her talking about The Honeys playing a few shows without Brian's supervision.  I'd say yes!  But given where they are on the bill (next to the Shindig band), maybe they just appeared as backing vocalists for the other acts?

By the way, in 1968 Dick and Dee Dee recorded a song called "The Escape Suite," written by Rick Henn.  That's the same song as "(Let´s Take A) Holiday" by The Honeys:

No other real good place to note this, so, for anyone that keeps a record of cover versions of Brian/BBs songs, an unreleased ( and probably always will be) cover:

If this is authentic, I wonder what the story is:

It couldn't possibly be a Mike Love balding joke, right?

I never see these rarities come up on my searches, what's the best thing to look for?

Do signed guitars ever sell? Especially without a COA?

I usually just search "Beach Boys", I would guess there are probably 500+ new items a day and it is a matter of sifting through them.

Signed guitars do sell, but a lot of factors go into value--What kind of guitar (electric/acoustic, Fender/Squier, mint or dinged up), legible signatures (not fading), authenticity of the signatures, who from the group signed (just Mike & Bruce, everyone but Brian, etc.). Value can be any where from $200-$300 to over $1000 if you have the whole group, but many factors go into the final price. There are many knowledgeable fans who can look at the signatures and determine if they are most likely authentic. There are always third party authenticators such as PSA/DNA or James Spence Authenticators, who charge on a per signature basis or by the band. I believe if you list a signed item on eBay, there is a quick opinion service done by PSA that is relatively inexpensive. I would love to know more details or see a picture.

Just a heads up. I purchased this photo, as it was represented as being hand signed. Upon inspection, it was clear it was a pre-print photo. The seller has relisted and mentions it is a reprint in the title, but it is listed under Entertainment Memorabilia>Autographs-Original>Music>Rock & Pop>Photographs

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Beach-Boys-Signed-Autographed-Photo-REPRINT-/281883517711?hash=item41a191230f:g:uucAAOSwf-VWXMNz

The seller was very apologetic and immediately refunded my money. I just don't want anyone on here bidding without having all the information.

It is most certainly real.  It was a joke/jab at John Stamos.  It's not the most common Beach Boys pick, but can be found.

Not exactly an interesting find... but does anyone have an idea as to why this is going for so much money?

I have a mono copy in the same if not better condition which I bought on eBay a year ago for around $30.

57 bids from 8 bidders, one of whom has zero transactions, another just three.  Newbies.  Their inexperience tends to drive up the bidding.  Also, bidding and actually paying are two different things   Tongue

Gotta be some kids messing around or something...  No way a VG+ mono Pet Sounds with the cover in shrink wrap should sell for $861.  If you know the right people you can get a guaranteed still sealed copy for that kind of coin.  More like $100 for a copy in that condition.

I saw a sealed mono Pet Sounds go for just under $500 the other day.

I really wonder why this one went for so much... I assume the buyer won't pay up and it'll be relisted in the coming days.
