Not sure about 64 but it looks more like this late 70s picture to me.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51mn%2Bdll73L._SX385_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

Also, was that BB logo around in 64? I think the jacket owner is confused with the 78 Aust/NZ tour.

Note this line :

'The stains looks like water or alcohol marks.'

Spilled by another band member in Perth or Melbourne perhaps? Wink

Close up of Mike wearing it inside the Preiss book also.

The listing has been changed to 1978 dating

Serious question, from the same seller, what's up with Brian Wilson and Mike Love guitar picks? Is it the sort of thing that each band member would get some to give to fans regardless if they actually use them???

I've seen a number of tours where *everybody* in the operation ends up with some guitar picks with their names. The main band guitarists, the other non-guitar playing band members, backing band members, sometimes even guitar techs and even roadies.

It eventually becomes almost an existential question. Would have rather have a worn C50 guitar pick that was actually used, with Scott Totten's name on it, or a Mike Love pick that either wasn't used or was used by someone other than Mike?

Colour slides of Dennis from the Pacific Ocean Blue photo shoots lots of outakes from the familar ones that got used on the reissue/pr. Hope whoever wins this is able to share. (They're selling to US only Sad)

"Dennis Wilson, founding member and drummer of the Beach Boys / 79 "ORIGINAL" Color Slides. Photos have Dennis Wilson at his home, on his boat "Harmony" with friends, and of course Dennis on the beach. Some with his children and dog. Date of slides are April 1977. Some of the photos are taken early summer 1977 on Venice Beach for the Pacific Ocean Blue photo sessions. Similar photos from these sessions can be found on book covers and CD promos. Other photos in this lot are taken in Hawaii, and off the coast of California."

It seems funny that there has never been a "Mike Love" guitar pick.  Pretty much everybody else has had there name on them, even back up band members who don't play guitar and certain guests (Pat Kelly).

The book, while highly recommended, should be accompanied by a warning that its purchase is potentially bad for one's financial wellbeing.

Hmm, this could be worth some serious cash if there was a photo of Mike wearing this exact jacket...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-GENUINE-BEACH-BOYS-JACKET-WORN-BY-MIKE-LOVE-DURING-1964-TOUR-OF-AUSTRALIA-/111758746320?hash=item1a055722d0

On its way to me. I'm seeing Mike in a few months so I'll be sure to show the jacket to him. It should fit one of my sons so I cannot wait to see Mike's reaction when he sees it being worn.

If you could ever definitively match it to Mike, it would be a heck of a buy. It will be interesting to see if he acknowledges it was his.

In person I have always found Mike to have a great sense of humour and I'm picking he'll be pretty relaxed by the time he makes it here. Tell you what, I'll try and get a photo of the two of them together.

Besides it's a cool memento from the '78 tour to go with a few other bits and pieces I have.  A very good friend of mine, and still a hard core fan, spent quite a bit of time with Dennis in Christchurch.

Along those same lines, two TWGMTR signed CDs from the same seller:

One signed by Brian, one signed by Foskett...

Curious, which one do you consider signed by Brian and which one by Foskett? I'm assuming the first one by BW and the second by JF.

The moment they were brought to a concession booth, during intermission at the C50 Anaheim concert, a friend bought a stack of C50 autographed pics, and the BW sigs varied significantly from one pic to the next. He took photos and sent them to a BB autograph expert, who said they were all authentic.

IMO, the first link has an authentic BW, the second link has an authentic Foskett signing for BW. I've posted this before, but here is a really good read on the suspected Foskett secretarials from 2012:  http://live.autographmagazine.com/forum/topics/brian-wilson-autographs-on-the-current-be-careful
