And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Nope but thats interesting loopy cursive writing like a girl, Broothie.

Hey Little Tomboy is creepy. Banging women by the pool is fun and conjures up warm summer thoughts a Beach Boys song should.

Ooh, I hope that's a promo for something Omnivore has for the future.
They do good work.

Is this likely to triple in value?

Assume these are likely to be the same mixes of WIBNTLA and Falling in Love that appeared on MIC? Small print is too small to read in the accompanying photo…

Yes they are all the released mixes. Well worth the purchase to have essentially a Dennis Wilson "best of" disc.  I picked this up about a month ago on eBay for $25.

Seems a little strange that Omnivore would be able to procure the rights for those tracks particularly the Beach Boys recordings

Seems strange that they'd even want to… unless there was some special vinyl release being planned with maybe bonus tracks

I asked Omnivore about this:

"Our publishing company administers the Dennis Wilson song catalog"

"Publishing only sampler, not a commercial release"

Did you ask if they'd send you a copy for review purposes?

Odd version of Pet Sounds, test pressing: Vibes on side one, Sail on Sailor, Sloop, God Only… on side two.

No description to speak of… could these be live tracks?

One of the photos shows the back cover with "MS 2223" in writing. This is what I assume is a catalog number, and which corresponds to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Vibrations_%E2%80%93_Best_of_The_Beach_Boys

If you look at that track listing, you'll see that the sides have been reversed from the test press to the legit release, but they kept the tracks in the same order. For some reason, they only seem to have included 4 of the 12 tracks.
Edit: I suppose it was still three years away from being released, so they were probably still in the process of figuring out which tracks to include on the compilation.

I suspect that this is simply the test pressing for the GOOD VIBRATIONS - BEST OF THE BEACH BOYS compilation LP, with annotations on the cover and label after the fact.  It's easy on a test pressing to confuse side 1 and side 2, unless you can interpret matrix numbers.  Whoever listed the LP probably guessed at 1972.

It's still rare, but probably not an alternate track listing or anything of the sort.

Thanks indeed guys. It was the name "pet Sounds" and the four-tracks-only that had me scratching. Peculiar…

Here is something you don't find every day.  This is an insanely rare autographed Summer Days LP.  It is autographed on the back by "Mark R. Wilson".

Licensed to a Canadian company. cheap, if you like picks, at $13 including the shipping.
Entirely possible Brother would license something like this.
