So, Mike is playing guitar to get the chicks now?
We all know he took her home.

Thanks for all those captions so far!  Cheesy  Cheesy

I spilled some milk snorting at this one:

Fans: "Play Classical Gas!"
Mike: "Uhh, well, I could play it but I'd rather sing something for you."
Fans: "We want Classical Gas!"
Mike: "Uhh, well, I would but I can't remember what key it's in."
Fans: "A MINOR!"
Mike: "Oh sh*t..."

Can anyone offer a guess as to who the younger man in this photo might be? He's in one other shot too. I thought he might be a local radio station guy, but from what I've found from the local stations which would have been playing top 40 music in '69, he's not. Unless I missed something.

Also, addressing some of the other 20-something aged people around the band in various photos, including the guy shown above: How big was the Beach Boys' traveling road crew at this time? Could some of them be their touring staff?

Kinda looks like Al, but at least in that pic, he's taller

By the way, he does seem like a jerk, ignoring the kids in the wheel chair for the hot chick. If he had his robe he could heal them and make them walk!

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

 LOL

My sarcasm isn't as obvious as it needs to be sometimes...

If I believed that guy was really named Poindexter, I'd post pictures of the Rolex watch I bought in Times Square for 100 bucks... Grin

Not only that, but I had just won the 100 bucks playing Three Card Monte on the same corner in New York! And the dealer's name was Poindexter!

Why the hell didn't I see this post before?! Thanks for sharing!

Looking at Dennis' shirt here, I wonder if the short footage of him with the Maracas in Endless Harmony (during Wouldn't It Be Nice iirc) comes from this gig

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

So how long after this did Mike wear the flowing robe and let his beard really grow?

I don't believe I've ever seen Mike's hippie / 1930s gangster / pimp outfit before.

If this was 1969, I think he went to the flowing robes in 1970.

Then, it was the legendary Cowboy Jesus.

Mike was rocking the robes getup by the time Breakaway was released, so he adopted it sometime in '69.
