Surely he wrote "saturday morning in the city", but has it been confirmed? I'm not sure the liner notes differentiated between who wrote the lyrics and who wrote the music.

I lovvve the lyrics to "Good Kind Of Love", very Brian.
His lyrics on "Time to get alone" are beautiful too.
The man knows how to write a catchy song

I honestly think Brian is underrated as a lyricist, though it's obviously not his strongest talent.

Oh, I agree. Actually, if you take away all the songs Brian had no part in writing lyrics for, he'd still have an impressive career.

Is there a confirmation he actually wrote these lyrics? The chorus sounds like him, but certain lines like "how could I have got so low/I'm embarrassed to tell you so" and "take a lesson from one who knows/just where be lazy goes" sound an awful lot like what Scott was writing for the rest of that album.

Very underrated. I think his lyrics are very easy to appreciate if you don't judge them by classic rock standards.

I just noticed that too. If you notice, Brian has a certain idiosyncratic rhyme scheme throughout his career. Mostly since 1976, though.

Good Kind of Love is credited solely to Brian.
He loves her when she's sleeping And all the dreams she's keeping She keeps them in a jar but not too far from her heart
They have the good kind of love Good kind of love, good kind of love They have the right kind of thing Right kind of thing, right kind of thing Makes me wanna sing it to you
Just him and her They're so close together Now they just met Have a newfound treasure
Woah, woah Run to him, run to him Right in his arms
They have the good kind They have the good kind They have the good kind of love
Now she finds peace in knowing (She knows) Knowing he'll always be there (Always) Imagine all the women who'd like a man like him
They have the good kind of love Good kind of love, good kind of love They have the right kind of thing Right kind of thing, right kind of thing Makes me wanna sing it to you
Just him and her They're so close together Now they just met Have a newfound treasure
Woah, woah Run to him, run to him Right to his arms, yeah
They have the good kind They have the good kind They have the good kind of love
Sun keeps on shining He rolls round heaven above A little bit of loving and a-kissin' and a-huggin' That's how they fell in love
They have the good kind They have the good kind They have the good kind of love

Those are pretty good. Didn't realize how many things he's done recently. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a hand on all the songs he did on TWGMTR, but I only listed the confirmed ones. It'll be interesting to see if he writes any lyrics for his new solo album. We already know he's recording something, but what? Is it a new solo album? A surprise Beach Boys' disc? Or just fartin' around until something pops up?
I forgot 'City Bllues'* as well. Don't know why Dennis didn't get a credit on it.

Wow what's your source on that? I wonder what Mike contributed to the song. Was just listening to it and realized how beautiful the lyrics are. He definitely was an underrated lyricist Didn't he write the lyrics for "I'm Bugged At My Old Man"? Strange song.

I'd Love Just Once To See You and Busy Doin' Nothing are the two coolest lyrics in the Beach Boys catalog. Please, tell me the first comes from Brian! It screams him all the way.
I love Brian's lyrics, much more so than Mike's. Though I can concede the importance of the latter's work, Brian's lyrics are either cool, witty or downright trash (which is ridiculously fun). Most of all, they seem honest, if a little bit idiosyncratic
