I know that an additional intro was added on for the Summer Love Songs CD, which is pretty cool.  But I ran into this video, which sounds really different to my ears...

The Summer Love Songs version:

In the first video, it sounds sped up a bit after the short intro, sounds like an abrupt edit.  The clapping seems to stand out more on the first one, too.  And the horns stand out more on the SLS version.  Thoughts?

That's what the single version really is. Bought it around 1990 after reading Surf's Up and found out about it.

That mono's just running too fast all the way through, including the intro. The handclaps at the end were overdubbed straight onto the mono and are just missing from the stereo.

There's another alternate single version, it's on the US Singles box, disc 7 and starts off a capella, no idea of it's origins.

Never heard the single version before. Great stuff, thanks for sharing! Somehow the muffled sound really adds to the wall-of-sound experience.

The single version is a slight re-edit of the album version.
