What a fantastic album! I didn't care for it nearly as much when I first heard it, but I can't get enough of it now.

11. I Was Made To Love Her - Doesn't do too much for me.
10. How She Boogalooed It
9. Wild Honey - Nice single!
8. Here Comes the Night
7. Darlin - Another nice single. Carl sounds great!
6. I'd Love Just Once to See You - Brian has such a great sense of humor. Gotta love this song!
5. Mama Says - What great harmonies. Wow!
4. A Thing Or Two - Really cool changes. I really like Mike's parts.
3. Country Air - Really great song!
2. Let the Wind Blow - Fantastic job, Mike. This song rules.
1. Aren't You Glad - One of my favorite leads Mike ever did. He sings really nicely in this. I love all the horns.

Wild Honey has really grown on me. Hopefully we will see more stereo releases of its content!

Tier 1:
Aren't You Glad
Country Air
Wild Honey
Darlin
Here Comes The Night
Let The Wind Blow
I'd Love Just Once To See You

Tier 2: (still great)
A Thing Or Two
How She Bogolooed It To Me
I Was Made To Love Her

Mama Said - I really hate this one considering that it took the spot 'The Letter', CCW or that other Honey Come Home song (maybe this will be on new boxset? Cheesy) Also as a track it does nothing.

2) Wild Honey
2) Let the wind blow
2) Here comes the night

3) A thing or two

Man, this album rocks.  And it's the only album other than Pet Sounds my wife will willingly listen to or even occasionally request (any other BB albums she has heard is under duress) - so it gets family favourite status as well.

The rootsier sound of the Wild Honey singles first introduced me to the Beach Boys late 60s/early 70s period.  Not quite a perfect album and very short, but I love of lot of these tracks.  Let the Wind Blow and Darlin' in particular are divine!

This was really hard to rank, and the top three could easily change depending on my mood. I also love the live performances of these songs, especially from the Ricky/Blondie era. Blondie's take on Wild Honey is amazing (and it was nice to see a video of Mike rocking it out on the tannerin), as is the version of "Let the Wind Blow" from In Concert.

On our way through this "backstage" maze, Bruce joined up with the group and said hello, singing "It Never Rains in Southern California" and joking with some of the older ladies. I'm not sure if they knew he was a Beach Boy or simply an enthusiastic elderly gay gentleman.

Mama Says is great, a perfect ending to the album. It blows my mind that anyone would think otherwise.

Expressing yourself in a fashion similar to a 12-year-old is cheesier.

I've always thought that switching "Whistle In" from the end of Smiley Smile to the end of Wild Honey with "Mama Says" would fit the tone of both albums so much better. "Whistle In" has that almost R&B vibe of Wild Honey, while "Mama Says" has the Smiley Smile mood and lyrics.

I think "Mama Says" is a pretty weak ending, now putting "The Letter" instead is much better and finishes off that Soul-feel the album carries.

My least favourite 60s Beach Boys album, will break rankings into three parts.

The Good:

Darlin'
Let The Wind Blow
Country Air
Mama Says

The Mediocre:

Aren't You Glad (this is here only due to the production, or lack thereof, the live versions is far superior)
Wild Honey
I Was Made To Love Her
I''d Love Just Once To See You

The Bad:

Here Comes The Night
A Thing Or Two
How She Boogalooed It

Great

Wild Honey.
Let The Wind Blow.
Here Comes The Night.
Darlin'.
How She Boogalooed It.
Mama Says.

Good

I Was Made To Love Her.
Country Air.
Aren't You Glad.

Poor

I'd Love Just Once To See You.
A Thing Or Two.

It must be said that the recording quality of the entire album is appalling!! Where's Steve Desper when you need him?

Great album, but Darlin was the only song that had a chance to be a hit.  I agree with the comment that the live version of Aren't You Glad is superior, the studio version doesn't have much umph to to it.

This has grown to be one of my favorite albums. No its not SMiLE or Pet Sounds, but it is more pure Beach Boys then either of those two. Meaning the group had more influence on its sound. Yet Brian was still writing great songs and his magic still shines. Replace Mama Says and I Was Made to Love Her with Can't Wait Too Long and Cool Cool Water (67) and it would make a solid album a great one!

Nothing wrong with these songs
1. Let The Wind Blow (perhaps my favorite Beach Boys song right now!)
2. Country Air
3. Aren't You Glad
4. Wild Honey (Seemed to follow Good Vibrations nicely with the electro therimin sound)
5. Here Comes the Night

Funny lyrics
6. I'd Love Just Once to See You

A bit cheesey but I love the organ sounds and they still rock
7. How She Boogalooed It
8. A Thing or Two

Solid average
8. Darlin (a nice single but a bit over rated IMO
9. I Was Made To Love Her (a great cover, but I would prefer BB songs to covers)

I don't really ever listen to this one
10. Mama Says
