Smb. posted it for free in the local site, I downloaded. Liked it then, like it now. That said, the best "Let's Dance" is Tony Sheridan's.

I'm thrilled that people are receiving it well. Actually, it's been a few weeks since I've really given it a listen.

been listening to a lot of this recently:

Hi Mari, Bubs and captain, believe it or not I've been investigating Sufjan Stevens. It struck me as a good idea in view of all the promotion he's been getting, lol. Michigan has some great tracks but I found I wasn't hearing anything new after a while. I'm now enjoying the heck out of Enjoy Your Rabbit. Now that's more like it!

My feelings about him are very conflicted. I think he's absurdly talented, both lyrically and musically (including instrumentally and vocally). However, I also think he's a horrible editor of his own work. Even what I consider his best work, Illinois, I think should be about 15-20 minutes shorter. Inevitably for me the music ends up failing in the old maxim of "leave them wanting more." I wish he were part of a band with an equally talented counterpart whose sensibilities brought some real creative tension.

I like Sufjan.  I need to get my notes posted on his music.  Instead, I have been listening to Voxtrot all afternoon.  Working at getting some notes up on them.

I found some stuff I liked, too.  I played about 25 tracks, some of them five times.

My latest discovery on YouTube is the Brooklyn band Pavo Pavo:

It might appeal to fans of the likes of Fleet Foxes and Tame Impala... ;=)

I've been listening to the excellent Beings by Lanterns on the Lake (pushed my way by ol' Tubey). This is "Stuck For An Outline", the heaviest track on what is generally a fairly understated album:
