Staight No chaser- The Bill Holman Band-playing the music of Monk
One of the best jazz riffs ever. Does anyone know how many studio versions Monk cut by himself? Seven? Eight? Fifteen?

(PS: I love the version on "Five By Monk By Five".)

Right now I'm listening to the Sam Alito hearings.

But the last music I was listening to was "Truth Is The Light" by the Wood Brothers.

It is a great riff, but I don't know the answer to your question. The album quoted above is great, by the way. The Holman does Monk thing.

The Beach Boys - I've Got A Friend (live 11/7/71, Washington, DC)

Note of interest for all you David Leaf fans - this is the show that made him the fanatic he is today.

Moi, I've been "Hittin' the Note" with the Allmans for a few weeks now. An astonisihingly great album, absolutely up there with their very best. Who'd-a thunk it?

Hey Zen,

It's makin' me smile!

I've only made it through about half the set so far, but so far so very good. The sound is excellent, at the very least an improvement over the old Japanese CD of Live-Evil I have. I really enjoy this particular period of Miles' music, so I had a bias already.
