And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

I can't wait to give her next few a try. I hear they're even better...

Lovin' this.
I know Todd Rundgren used to name Eli and the Thirteenth Confession as his all-time favorite album, but I like this debut album better. The next few albums could get a bit raw  (which I'm sure some people like Todd really dig) for my tastes.

I adore Laura Nyro! Listened to quite a bit of her music this evening, along with Eno and David Byrnes album My Life In the Bush of Ghosts

Lookin Out My Back door is one of the best melodies ever . I think Bri could cover it.

First listen.
What did you think of it? I love it to death..

Hey Low, I gave it a few more listens and I like it. I still feel that I need more time with it - seems like one of those records with many details to absorb. At first I was a bit turned off by the sound cause it immediately made me think of all those insipid, post-2000 indie-rock bands it influenced. I love the lyrics on the first track, and the vocal on the last.

Glad to hear it! Keep at it, you'll love it sooner or later. Of course indie music is a totally different world today than it was 10 years ago when Funeral was released.. Arcade Fire were a different band, too. I don't care much for anything post Neon Bible..

The first four Black Sabbath albums lately. Insane stuff and I'm not even much of a metal person.

It's the second album by Tindersticks. Hopefully the picture's working now.

Those who like rock and roll revisited - and Elvis' voice - will enjoy these 2 by The Flying Saucers, both orig. and covers -
"Flying Tonight" (1982) and
"Keep on Coming" (1978).
Many minutes of good music.
