The 2002 debut from Bill Ricchini. He's absolutely fantastic.

A 16-song homemade Belle & Sebastian compilation with songs from the past two albums and "Your Cover's Blown," the single off of the "Books" extended single/mini-EP (those sorts of things are getting difficult to categorize these days...singles with four or five songs, etc.).

Luther, you have great taste!  I love Dear Catastrophe Waitress!  What do you think of the latest Belle and Sebastion record?

About half of it ranks as my favorite B&S songs ever. The other half, to me, is a little worse than DCW. It's still nice, but not as great. Seriously, though, White Collar Boy, Blues Are Still Blue, Dress Up In You and a few others are really as good as any of it. I prefer the new, slightly funky, focused, well-produced stuff to their earlier work. Everyone always raves about their first albums, but to me, that's just the same thing as people always liking the unreleased BBs stuff. "Oh, I only like the EARLY stuff. You've caught on too late..." etc.

I saw them on tour again this time around, too, and must say it was fantastic--better than the DCW tour.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat on the new one.  I think even with minor flaws, it is one of the best records put out in the last couple of years.

I love their old stuff as welll and my favorite album of theirs is If You're Feeling Sinister but I understand totally the "You've caught on too late" crowd and it pisses me off!  Just enjoy the music and give up the damn race to be the first to discover something and then throw it away when it gets some bigger exposure!

The Paper Chase, Now You Are One of Us. And I'm going to have nightmares because of it; it's freaking me out. Great production by John Congleton (again), though.
