I kind of went with a half Hot Rod / half School themed album. Christmas 1963 or January 1964 release date where they would be able to have both their latest hit and up coming hit on the same album. This is assuming that all of the songs from SD2 were written and ready to record by late Autumn 1963. Also, I went with a 12 song tracklist. Hardly a chance in hell that Capitol would have went with more during that time frame.

Side 1
01 Spirit Of America
02 Car Crazy Cutie
03 Cherry, Cherry Coupe
04 Don't Worry Baby
05 No-Go Showboat
06 Custom Machine

Side 2
01 Fun, Fun, Fun
02 Why Do Fools Fall In Love
03 The Warmth Of The Sun
04 In The Parkin' Lot
05 Pom, Pom Play Girl
06 Be True To Your School (Single Version)

The Brianista Prayer

Oh Brian
Thou Art In Hawthorne,
Harmonied Be Thy name
Your Kingdom Come,
Your Steak Well Done,
On Stage As It Is In Studio,
Give Us This Day, Our Shortenin' Bread
And Forgive Us Our Bootlegs,
As We Also Have Forgiven Our Wife And Managers,
And Lead Us Not Into Kokomo,
But Deliver Us From Mike Love.
Amen.  ---hypehat

It would be cool if capitol released fantasy albums like these on vinyl.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

I'd leave LDC as is, I'm learning to appreciate the early albums for what they are. That being said, SDV2 is something that I think could have been a lot stronger with a few cuts substituted. I'd imagine if the tracklist was something like;

Don't Worry Baby
Be True to Your School (single version)
Pom-Pom Playgirl
Thank Him
In the Parkin' Lot
I Do

Fun, Fun, Fun
Why Do Fools Fall in Love? (w/ extended intro)
Keep an Eye on Summer
This Car of Mine
Back Home
The Warmth of the Sun

I'd like it a whole lot more.

"A/S/L"?
"Age:24. That's when Brian Wilson made Pet Sounds. Sex: Brian Wilson was having loads of sex with Marilyn when he made Pet Sounds. Location: Gold Star Studios, where Brian Wilson assembled with the Wrecking Crew to make Pet Sounds. Hbu?"

Agreed, if they kept LDC as it is, I like this better than SDV2.
