Anybody else here a little leery about this? I really hope the Mouse doesn't flush Star Wars down the toilet.

Can they mess it up anymore than George did?

Star Wars went from a movie made by a kid (at least in spirit), to a series made for kids.

It only makes sense Disney would take over. smh.

If Disney does with Star Wars what they're doing with Pirates of the Caribbean and the Marvel franchise by just bankrolling the stuff, we might be ok.

Lucas gave the $4 billion to charity. Rich white men are so greedy.

After the travesty of Episode II, the Star Wars franchise has nowhere to go but up haha

Lucas has said he'll have no direct part of these films: He's not writing or directing, just giving ideas. Who knows if that's good or bad...

The best Star Wars films were the ones that Lucas neither wrote nor directed.

True, though the screenplay/story for 'A New Hope' is my favorite in the Star Wars series.

Rank the Star Wars movies.

A New Hope - 9
Empire Strikes Back - 8.5
Jedi - 7 (It was going great 'till the Ewoks appeared)
Phantom Menace - 3
Attack of The Clones - 4.5
Sith - 7.5

Empire - 9.5 - I think it's the closest to achieving Lucas's goal of recreating classic cinema + good stuff to plentiful to list

New Hope - 9 - cool!

Jedi - 7.5 - probably the best of the rejigged versions, but the ewoks erode the potential gravitas

The new films - sigh; while they all have some visually redeeming factors (action sequences, yoda light sabre blah blah, the chick in the background of the opera house staircase scene in Sith) we're talking a collective pile of shi*, I'll offer a combined total of 3 and a shake of my sorry head

Empire Strikes Back: 10 (the Asteroid scene is worth 9 of these points)
A New Hope: 9.5
Return of the Jedi: 8
Phantom Menace: 7 (okay, Jar Jar ruined this movie, but the podrace and end battle were done in a tasteful Star Wars style)
Revenge of the Sith: 6
Attack of the Clones: .5 (yes: .5 -- 1 and a half hours of the Padme and Anakin soap opera, with 8 minutes of Clone Wars action at the end...utterly terrible)
