Cheers everyone!! If you ever come up to Calgary Canada definitely pay the museum a visit: http://www.nmc.ca

They stopped by on the Gershwin tour too, the guys love the museum!!!

Also, JL who is leading the tour & playing on some of the tunes was a former organ player for Iron Butterfly!

A Disney World for musicians, that place...freakin' fantastic, I'm ready to book a trip there.

One highlight out of many happens at 4:44 : Darian playing "Telstar" on the original Clavioline. Best reaction...after playing it, he says "Yeah, that's the sound!".

How about posting the outtakes where they really go wild and start playing that bass groove from "99 Luft Balloons" on an Oberheim OB-X?  Grin

I need one of those Hammond Novachords! 1937?! That's probably the coolest instrument ever.

Yeah I heard that on the video and the cool sounds Darian was making were suddenly drowned out by my heart breaking irreparably.

If I went there I'd want to seek out a Harmonium (a Beatles favorite).  I've never seen or played one.  Very cool place, I already wanted to check out Calgary and Canadian Rockies, but this is a nice surprise addition.  I also have to say after hearing them play Martha My Dear, if McCartney really came up with that piano arrangement on his own, that's so impressive for a non-schooled musician!

At one point the camera pans and you see this shot:

For that split second seeing that profile I thought "No way! They've found a white Baldwin Theater Organ! Smiley Smile, Hawaii, yeah!", ready to hear Darian break into the Gettin Hungry intro...

I thought of this:

Alas, it was *only* a 20th century theater pipe organ at the museum...

Hehe....yeah I was hoping to convince them to play some Love You licks on Moog stuff but once we got to that part of the collection the guys were too tired to play anymore, having flown in that day. That being said, I present you with this picture from the tour:

I shared that vid with Ivan Doroschuk from Men Without Hats - and as an old synth hoarder himself, he definitely dug it! The next time the Hats play Calgary I'm sure he'll stop by for a visit.
