"The show in Dalls was very, very, very creative, suave and rockin'." - another Brianism right there.  Grin

Thanks for that!

If I had a wish list and a crystal ball, I would foresee another tour, with a wishlist hybrid of some of the more individual stuff with the kiss of the BB vocals:

Don't Fight the Sea
Postcard from California
Cool Head, Warm Heart
Summer in Paradise
Southern California
Forever She'll Be My Surfer Girl
Love and Mercy
How Could We Still Be Dancin'?
Soul Searchin' (yes, with Carl's vocals to the band)
Fairy Tale
*The Waltz* - kind of goofy, but a context that Boomers really "get."
And, I Always Will
Someone to Watch Over Me
I Got Rhythm

This, would give the show, newer live stuff, and showcase some of the stuff that the guys did since the 1990's.  And, it might be a place of common ground, updating the set list.

Maybe the world wasn't ready for the individual work, upon releases, but now, after this triumphant season, fans might like to hear the BB kiss upon the solo work, performed live.

So, while the bands are doing their own thing, and home, it might be a good time to take stock of how they can showcase their newer work.  There are all these gems within each band. Just a thought.  Wink

I think Bruce'd do a nice 'The Like I love in You'. Al 'Morning Beat'.

I wasn't meaning to be disrespectful of Brian and Melinda. But it did remind me of someone doing a vacation update for the grandkids. I guess "we"/the fans are the grandkids. I can't wait to see where Brian's big bus brings him next.  They could do a reality series, "Brian Wilson's Big Vacation."

Yeah, you are right. But my grandpa (RIP) never described anything as "creative, suave and rocking"!

Brian reality. I'd watch it. But Brian 1967 or Brian 1974-1976 reality, now that would have been something.

While we could all quibble with the details of that set list, filledeplage, the basic idea is terrific. You'd probably need one of two more songs from Mike's side of things, though. I wonder if they could rotate several of these in and out of  the "master set list" as well.

What they really ought to try doing on another tour is have a few "soundcheck" concerts at a reduced rate where they play "deep cuts" of all varieties, including titles from your list, and see how many people want to come out early to check it out. They could easily structure it so that it wouldn't be too tiring for the principals in the band.

Great idea, but let's call it "The Private Life of Bri and Mel"...  Drumroll

I think Brian viewed Mike on stage with him all Summer and he was impressed with how suave he was. In this instance, I believe he applied that descriptor to himself as this whole thing was so in your face.

Thanks for your kind words, and you are correct, that I needed to plug in some more of Mike's, as well.  I was relying on what I had loaded into the iPhone, wile looking for something representative of each.  So, I was a bit limited as I was thinking. And, I like to think of this C50 reunion as each of them dipping one toe in the ocean to find out if there was still "synergy" and to start this process...

Rome was not built in a day. It won't be rebuilt in one, either.  Good decisions are made prudently.

Even freshening the set list by 10-15% would be so cool, with stuff that has been released in some form.  Maybe one from Dennis/POB, even.

After having seen Al's band do Don't Fight the Sea, live, fairly recently, I think it would be a killer song, with Carl's vocals incorporated, as well as the some of the other stuff.  I had read that work began on that in the late 1970's.   When I heard Carl's vocals, I almost gasped and got the download, immediately.  It is just too awesome not to be heard in concert.

IMHO  Wink
