I was listening to a few Beach Boys fragments and I came across a (heavily) corrupted file of what was stated as 'What A Wonderful World' (by Bob Thiele and George Weiss, first recorded by the great Louis Armstrong) in aweful quality, but distinctly great harmonies and an unknown lead, perhaps Dennis or Brian?

Does anyone know more about it? Is it legit? To make it more relevant: could it see a release on the upcoming box?

It's an outtake from the Orange Crate Art sessions. Brian solo, with a wall of Brians.

yeah i've heard it too..too bad it's such bad quality, maybe one day we'll get a reissue of OCA with that and other songs as bonus tracks,I can't imagine it being on the box set considering it's probebly more VDP solo than Brian solo like the rest of the cd..

dang, was hoping it was a 15BO outtake or from when "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' " was recorded. Thanks anyway! (and here I was thinking I had seen every Beach Boys clip on youtube... )

Hows about this for another one? (You may have it, but I just put it there due to what seemed to be a lack of it)

Al Jardine sure does have a sweet tenor.  He might be the best singer in the band, then or now.

Hi; maybe I can clear up the origin of this track.  it was recorded, by Brian , for Melinda , so they could have their first dance to it at their wedding ,as it was their favorite song at the time. Definitely not part of any project .  Hope that helps !

IKR?

I love this recording, but then this is probably the most beautiful song ever written so of course an orchestral/wall of harmonies arrangement would be wonderful. If I may ask, Ray, did Van Dyke Parks do the orchestral arranging? It sounds quite 'him'.

Even if it was just for their wedding, it's a fucking GREAT vocal and track. Dare I say Brian should release it?

With regard to releasing this track I don't think that will happen as it was supposed to be private. I was kind of surprised to see the You Tube video to be honest; obviously it got out somehow, and I doubt they even know its floating around

Brian's vocal on "What A Wonderful World", like most of the others on Orange Crate Art, are painful to hear. I'm sorry. Just an honest opinion.

It's been floating around for a few years now.
