Obviously, no way to confirm but from what I can tell, the images on the cover come very close to the Phoenix show (which we know was filmed).  Same clothing on all guys (hard to tell with David's shirt).  Sure, the images on the front cover may have nothing to do with the contents but I thought it was worth mentioning:

And definitely not Red Rocks:

My number one hope/wish is for as complete of a concert as possible, just purely the most total songs, uninterrupted, even if they have to throw in some inane fan interviews or crowd shots too. Beyond that, I would hope we get as many of the more "interesting" songs as possible.

My fear is that even if we get a good amount of songs, say 40 or so, they are obviously more likely to include "Surfin' Safari" than "Pet Sounds" or "All This Is That."

I also hope the actual shots and editing of whatever concert footage is present is restrained enough. No quick shots and rapid editing.

Or how about this for a corker:  they include every single song from the performance but they edit/cut each song down to half their length.  I can totally see them do that LOL

every instrumental break on every song -- suddenly the volume lowers and it cuts to Doughy Guy #7 screaming: "I've waited all my life for this! These are like, The Beach Boys!" and similar comments for the ages.

It'd really make it that much more powerful, wouldn't it.

This should be the doc I was interviewed for. The director seemed to have a very good overall grasp on the Beach Boys entire history which means that it should be good. Hope I make a cameo lol.

What sort of questions were you asked?
Just why I wrote a book and how they represented the changes in America over the last 50 years.

I would sure like to finally read that book!

I'm sure the Phoenix show will look cool, if that's what this Blu Ray is from, but too bad it isn't one of the outdoor gigs like Sandia or Red Rocks or even Hollywood Bowl...man, those views at those venues are breathtaking (especially the first two).

So what is this?

Is it an official release or just some bootleg knock off? I might hold off till we get the promised red rocks gig

For sure it's official, but exactly what we're getting is not certain at this point. Time will tell. Could be really great! Hopes up, mhhm, aboard a title wave.

Good catch.  No word on this concert airing on PBS any time soon, though.  We've heard them talk about another PBS show but considering this release is about a month and a half away...could the TV broadcast be scrapped?  I'm sure they can still air it even after it's released....

Oh yeah...they're definitely affordable now. Less that $100, and I've seen some around $50.

When PBS was first mentioned I seem to remember a 90 minute special that with the 'Doin It Again' revised to 60 minutes. Maybe this 'Live' show is the 90 minute deal?

Huh, i somehow thought this live DVD/Blu-ray would be a compilation of different clips from different concerts.. which would be cool for everyone, not only for the people who went to the shows and for the ones who weren't at the shows! but also to put in a perfect setlist of all the different songs they tried through the tour!
hope it'll have some bonus to it? some backstage stage? was there any cameras?

The images of the guys are photoshopped to heck!  They kinda look like cartoons  LOL

Yeah.. and the worst is probably the bottom, just look at Mike Love.

Almost all concert DVDs are of one performance (or multiple performances at the same venue, cut up to look like a single performance).
