Steven Gaines (Heroes & Villains) says Murry's sister.  Chuck Granata (Wouldn't It Be Nice: the Making of Pet Sounds) says Audree's.  Can anyone settle this?

I seem to remember Mike Love saying that she was Audree's sister. I could be very wrong though.

Glee Wilson Love is Murry's sister according to Timothy White.  And whatever else you may think of his book, his research is impeccable.

Thanks for the replies.  I think I'm gonna agree that Glee was Murry's sister.  Gaines's research is pretty thorough, too.  And Jeff, I haven't read White's book in a while, but I do recall he very thoroughly went through the Wilsons genealogy.

The reason I asked was that I was interested to know if Mike was related by blood to Murry -- and it appears he was.  Gaines describes Glee as being very interested in music, like Murry.  From Gaines's description, Murry and Glee's parents (Brian, Dennis, Carl, and Mike's grandparents) loved music and had family sing-alongs around the piano.  However, the household was apparently abusive.

I know Audree also had an aptitude for music and a beautiful singing voice (which her sons obviously inherited).  It is just interesting to consider that Mike had some of the same genes as Murry.

Melinda -- I noticed this was your first post.  You wouldn't by any chance be a particular "Melinda" who would have very inside information as to the Wilson family, would you?  Had to ask.  Smiley

It's one of the most deep secrets of Beach Boys' history that MIKE LOVE IS A WILSON.

See? There's still a Wilson on stage...  Grin

If the Melinda who posted above is who I think she is, then Glee is her grandmother. Smiley

So she'd know a whole lot better than any BB writers or the rest of us...

It's also worth nothing that musical genes run on both Audree's and Murry's sides of the family, as I think Mike Love's daughter Hayleigh is one incredible singer.
