thread where I post my music

so, I don't know why I keep posting music in this section. my friends in real life don't listen to my music.
but here it is, my avant-garde instrumental album. I finished recording it a year and a half ago but didn't put it online until a few weeks ago.
all of these songs are completely improvised and were all recorded live in one take, with the exception of "Neo Retro Future Tokyo" which has some sampled voice overdubs, and "The Enchanted Forest" where all three tracks were recorded separately (but still complete improv). also the last track is the first track reversed.

thanks for listening and I appreciate the compliment. I've become a big fan of Korg instruments in the past two or three years, I love the sounds they produce.

What other release of yours would you recommend I start with? I'll still listen to this, obviously, but curious if you had any non-instrumental stuff on up on teh bandcamp. I must hear the music of Aegir.

This is good shtuff, "Islands" is making the strongest first impression of the bunch, but I'm getting a "this'll grow on me over time" vibe. "Wolf's Blood" is purty cool, too - I like the vocals and the contrast between all voices in the chorus.
Just started going through your non-Mount Moon stuff. Your stage banter is hilarious, and "10 AM Yesterday" made me laugh so hard it startled my girlfriend (the part about writing the paper, namely).
Well done ^_^

everyone says Islands is their favorite, probably because I had very little to do with it. I am playing the exact guitar part the singer/writer of that song came up with when she wrote the song. With the other song she wrote on the EP, "The Forest", the arrangement in that song is mine. as originally written it was the chord progression downstrummed at the same speed and intensity the entire time so I decided to switch it up a little to make it less monotonous. but with "Islands" I had no creative input.
just thought I'd mention that as I don't want to take undue credit for what's not mine.

lawl, I swear to God, every time I bother naming an initial favorite of something by a friend or someone online, it's always the song they had little to do with. Regardless, it's your band and you're on the song - the compliment still stands and still involves you in one way or another. Consider Denny's organ break on "Good Vibrations" or something - not his song, he didn't write that part, but hay, that's a cool organ part, he played it and it's still his band.
Also, I saw you were also from NJ and my brain turned to liquid at the thought of possibly meeting or playing a show with
the
Aegir. Alas, you're like two hours away, and I'd surely die on the trip there. I'm not originally from here and, after three years, am still ill-adjusted to the all the bigger areas compared to where I'm originally from (a very small town in IL of about 700 people, surrounded by corn fields and other towns of 700 people). I nearly get killed in a car accident every week when I go to get groceries. teh pain ;(

just recorded three songs this past afternoon, hopefully you won't have to smoke as much poop to enjoy these. the first track is a song I wrote a few months ago, and the other two are leftovers from a few years back that I finally decided to do something with. "Five Years of Winter" sounds that sh

Thanks as always for listening to and appreciating my music. Vanilla Island is intentionally a Beach Boys tribute but it's also a metaphor about my relationship with my ex (who I had absolutely nothing in common with, especially music taste).
All the vocals on this EP are me, yeah. I didn't think those "girl vocals" that I put in would actually sound feminine but I guess it worked better than I thought.

well, after I noticed people actually responding to Abstracts, I figured posting other music here would perhaps have a similar effect with people actually listening to it, unlike when I posted my stuff here years ago and not many people took notice.
though it's true between The Smile Sessions, TWGMTR and the tour, my interest in the Beach Boys has been invigorated and is as strong as it's been in years. and they are indeed very inspiring and influential.
Vanilla Island and Five Years of Winter are not re-recordings, however, but old songs recorded for the first time. I lost them and forgot about them and only recently rediscovered them.
