Same here. Still, at least in both cases the song that did win is a reasonable alternative.

I'll forever think of "Had to Phone Ya" as the album's standout - it's practically Pet Sounds orchestration lyrically wrapped in Brian's post-Smile slice of life brilliance. "Just Once in My Life" is great, but compositionally, it's nowhere near as discreet in its brilliance as "Had to Phone Ya" is, and that makes the difference for me.
