Very nice video. Good to see Blondie on the footage. I was a little disappointed that him & Ricky didn't even get a mention in the tour programme.
The first interview bit of Carl was new to me. Maybe this is stuff used for the new documentary

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Does anyone know where/when the studio footage at 3:12 was filmed and if any more of it is available?

Look into "An american band" or "Endless harmoy" (I'm not sure about the latter). It's from the "Time to get alone" sessions and was used as a promovideo for "I can hear music" iirc

Good to hear Al mention that their early 70s era is considered their most creative

Can anyone more in-the-know than I tell me which session yielded the b+w photo of Brian, his bass and his shoes?  It's great.

Oh, and the pic with of David and Carl, with Carl on the bass?  Just curious.

Some great footage to be seen here, no doubt.  It's a tantilizing taste of what the band could produce for a feature-length look at the history of the group.

They've really used every minute of that group interview in the studio eh?  It must've been a 2 hour interview to get all the different topics for all the snippets they used them later for.

I would just love to see a reunion video that didn't include Brian saying "we put a lot of love in our harmonies."
