I had no idea Bruce and Carl sang on this song
Bruce arranged the backing vocals too I believe. And Billy Hinsche is on that track as well IIRC
And it was recorded at JWG Caribou Ranch ( hence on Eltons Caribou Album )

damn it, I was sleeping when this was on (and no, I don't live in a time zone where it would be appropriate to still be asleep at this time).

Don't forget, Harry Shearer's beach boys doc starts at 10 on BBC Radio 2..
That should be pretty interesting, he's an amusing guy

And because a Beach Boys concert without Dennis' thanks to the fans is not complete:

Bruce, Carl and Billy were the backing singers on Elton's "Don't Let The Sun..." It's in my top-5 songs of all time list and the vocal arrangement is a big part of the reason why. Carl singing with the frenchhorn at the end of the chorus is my favorite Carl Wilson vocal performance of all time. Chills every time.

Even though this broadcast is bizarrely-timed (sandwiched in the middle of Beach Boys programming) the Ellington is still very enjoyable...

Hopefully these home recordings being released for this doc are an indication of what would be on the box....
