Well, I'm finally taking the plunge and trying to start a new life for myself back in my childhood home, Los Angeles, California.

It's going to be interesting.  I don't have a whole lot of money at my disposal, and a car is not something that's looking terribly likely at first.  (if anybody in LA has an extra car I could use, I'd appreciate it.)  But I've got to give this a try.  It'll be just like starting over.

That's my big news, and maybe I'll catch up with some of you LA-based SmileySmilers at some point.

This topic makes me want to cry. I moved away from my childhood home when I was 11 years old. I've only returned twice on short visits. There's a massive void inside of me which is lacking the proper closure I need from my old town.

Are you moving into the house you grew up in? That'd be amazing and very strange to do so if you are. I hope things work out well for you, and keep in touch with everyone here.

....Are you going to try and get a music career started down there?

kewl, josh.

i'm an LA native. not having a decent car is going to be quite the challenge but look at it this way, you're not adding to the gridlock. for what you're passionate about there is no better place to be.

katie, most sacramento people suck. i hope you have really good friends already there to insulate you and hip you to a tolerable lifestyle.

Keep your eyes open, you don't want to miss out when the ol' Spector place becomes available.

Good luck out there!

What scares you about LA?  The fact that every inch seems to be claimed by heavily armed gangs?  Other than that, and several other problems, the city has a lot to offer.  Like the rest of California, it's probably more enjoyable if you are one of the wealthy few.  Though LA has problems you can't buy your way out of, such as traffic that never moves.  Every time I've been down there in recent years, it gets worse and worse.   I don't appreciate taking an hour to go eight miles on the 101 through Hollywood.

I don't know why, but I found that very funny.

I've been out here for three weeks, and no sign of a gang yet.  And I've covered a fair bit of inches.

THEY'RE EVERYWHERE, Josh.

Actually, I've been out there a lot, too, and I have seen nothing of the kind.

I am in a gang. We are called The Screwdrivers. Our favourite thing to do is attacking people with screwdrivers. My weapon of choice is the Orbit#1 from Phillips. We are presently mulling over a Summer decamp to LA.
