I was listening to Geoff Barker's Rock'n'Roll Party on BBC Devon today via iPlayer and was delighted to hear the Beach Boys performing a splendid live version of "Hushabye," recorded Nov. 5, 1964. It's still available on the iPlayer through Friday at the link below. The BBs can be found at 1:49 in.

BTW, I'm in the U.S. and listening online.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Superb Find , thank you so much ( I do usually listen to some of this show on Radio Bristol on a Saturday evening ) another MASSIVE plus in that this was recorded on the very day I was born  Roll Eyes

So a tear in the eye ( god that has happened a few times for BB's related items in the last 9 months )

Geoff Barker..jeeZ what an insufferable chatterbox.  Undecided

Nice to hear the song that he ruined by walking all over the intro and the outro.

Sounds like they did it with an acoustic guitar too. No Fender Jaguar.

I heard mostly an electric 12 string.

This session is currently being discussed on the "missing episodes" tv and radio forum. Looks like some of it might have been lined up for the box set, but things seem to have gone awry. The "John Henshall" mentioned is the fellow who last year returned gratis the tape of David Bowie's TOTP performance of The Jean Genie.

Did anyone rip a copy? Looks like we might have lost it forever, yet again.

Seems like a few sensible souls have recorded this. Many thanks for getting in touch. Let's hope the whole session sees the light of day at some point.
