No, I ain't talking about 50 Big Ones two-disc deal.  I'm talking about the apparently rebooted (according to AGD), expansive box set that is scheduled to be released on ____________.  What should we expect from it?  To just include all the "hits" would be totally redundant and a complete waste of time considering they're already putting out two new GH compilations and select album re-releases.  So I'm guessing we're going to be treated to an expanded "anthology" album similar to Endless Harmony and Hawthorne, CA.  Maybe featuring new stereo mixes of mono tracks ("Wild Honey", anyone?), unreleased material (that "Wouldn't It Be Nice to Live Again" that fans won't shut up about) and maybe a live concert or two.

What are your predictions?

You gotta tell me what you mean by that. I listened to that thing one time, but I don't recall a Matt Sharp type falsetto.

I'm hoping to hear Brian's 1975 piano demo of "In The Back Of My Mind".

I'd like to see The Beach Boys' version of "Seasons In The Sun" included.  It's a wonderful lead from Carl.

A few live shows would be perfect. Especially if they include CCW, Wild Honey, Surf's Up, You Need A Mess Of Help, Feel Flows +maybe more WH-Holland songs or any early 70's Dennis songs!  Afro

Okay, dream time.

I'd love for a box of boxes, which might include but not be limited to (note that this little lot might have overlap and could be augmented with more material; note also that I've employed a fair bit of cut-and-paste from existing online sources, so please forgive any inconsistencies in formatting):

Box one (6 discs): Remastered Surfin' Safari album, with bonus tracks including the material once slated for Brad's First Wave collection and much, much more:

Disc One
1. Surfin' Safari (Brian Wilson/Mike Love)
.....................

Please feel free to add…

Because any of us who have collected even a 'basic' set of boots could put together a much more interesting collection.

Dang, they are most likely in the midst of still putting this set together. Let's be patient.

It be a disaster to get 17 versions/takes/mixes of "Surfin" when there are 100's of unreleased songs/musical pieces/alternate versions. Besides Carnegie Hall, New York, November 23, 1972, I have little, little interest in this early material save for what Alan Boyd or AGD would consider essential.

I agree about al the Surfin tracks, but I'd take anything at this point!

Maybe a few more nuggets from Adult Child and Landlocked; more delicious backing tracks and vocals-only mixes...maybe some sessions here and there.

Oh and - if it's gonna be another career retrospective of hits and such, like the 1993 box set, please include 'Let Him Run Wild'. Thank you. Smiley

Al Jardine told me they were recording some new tracks for the box set, ie - Waves of Love.  And some slowed down redos from "Radio".  Course, he said it was called "50 Big Ones" so who knows..............

He also said "WIBNTLA" wasn't on it and didn't remember the song.  He said he'd check on it as I told him us fans were dying for it.

Haven't heard if Alan Boyd has recovered but I hope he is involved.

Each boxed set will include Matt Jardine, suitable for framing.
