The extended version of Don't Worry Baby on the MIC box with Brian's single track lead vocal is only possible because of these tapes.
Is the same true for the Pom Pom Play Girl vocal session?

On our way through this "backstage" maze, Bruce joined up with the group and said hello, singing "It Never Rains in Southern California" and joking with some of the older ladies. I'm not sure if they knew he was a Beach Boy or simply an enthusiastic elderly gay gentleman.

I'd say yes.

Whilst it's great that these tapes have now turned up, it's not overly great that the vast majority of us are never actually going to hear them. Bootleg they may have been but God bless the Sea of Tunes box sets for allowing us non-insiders extensively behind the scenes... I only wish Shut Down Vol 2 sessions had turned up prior to them being compiled.
