Add Some Music To Your Day

Sorry, many people decided to stand during this one, causing me to change position a couple of times. Plus, we were about 40 rows back, so it was a tough show for video & photos.

That never gets old---thanks for posting.  Nice job on both videos!

Kinda amusing to see that camera crane snake around the stage capturing the action.  Only complaint was that Mike should've stood to David' left to fill the gap between him and Bruce.  Not sure why he stood behind Brian?  Considering the amount of cameras on stage, I'm gonna guess this is for the DVD.  But we shall see!

Why do they keep showing the keys "Surfin USA" and "Fun, Fun, Fun" are in on these setlists?

Because Brian's band and Mike's used to play those songs in different keys from each other. I *think* (though my pitch isn't good enough to be sure, and I've not done an A-B comparison) Mike's band used to play the songs in the original keys while Brian's band lowered them. And I've no idea what keys Al and David are used to playing them in...

The current setlist has Fun Fun Fun in its original key, while Surfin' USA is actually a semitone *up* from its original key (both were originally in E flat). And if you've been playing those songs live for thirteen years straight, it would be all too easy to go into autopilot and play them in the wrong key.

Good job, Sonora Dick!

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

That's the best live Help Me Rhonda I've seen. Al is so into it! It must be said again: the level of performance and commitment in this tour is really moving and, for a guy my age, unprecedented.

One funny moment from the soundcheck. Can't remember which song they had just finished, but Brian says something like "Some of these keys don't work". Jeffrey walks over to his piano, pounds on a few keys, and walks away.
Brian: "Sure, the keys all work for HIM."

Sounded nice. Well done! How has it gone over in concert? Does the audience know and appreciate it being played?

And look how engaged Mike is on "California Saga" now.  I love him adding a few harmony lines with Al.  The interplay is really great.

This looks like a fantastic show they filmed, I really hope we get it in its entirety wherever it does eventually end up.
