Read that five, six times, and nowhere did it say "they (the remasters)...".  Evil

The flow of conversation was about the 2009 remasters, Sir. In return for your egregious and foul error, I hereby demand the tracklisting for the Made In California box.  Grin

OK. It will be composed entirely of Beach Boys recordings from 1961-2012. i think you'll find that's pretty accurate.

All the way back to 1961? Let's hope the sequencing is as good as 50 Big Ones and we see "Luau" right next to the "She Believes In Love Again" re-recording, followed up by, of course, "Battle Hymn Of The Republic".

Haven't seen this posted anywhere else, but Amazon has pretty much the entire discography up as separate downloads that will be released September 25. So one has to wonder if these are remasters. And since they are already going to be available as downloads, you'd have to think that maybe they'll be released soon. Maybe January 2013? Hmmmm.

Yours truly will collect his Smiley Smile 2012 version tomorrow at his retailer's of 34 years - a time-honoured tradition.

Can't wait to hear the stereo version, and the same goes for Wild Honey; Capitol, get that out ASAP!

Planned for the near future: Today!, All Summer Long, and Summer Days, 2012.

As of yesterday my ship date for the Pet Sounds mono/stereo remaster was still Sept. 25 with Amazon USA.

Not complaining, but the few other titles I ordered all show ship dates of Oct 9 w/ Amazon USA.

Thank you. I will report back on it tomorrow, can only collect it just before 6 PM tonight. Then it will be: bike home, insert CD, put Goldring cans on, and enjoy.

Just listened to the Smiley Smile Stereo cd, anybody else have issues with the piano in With Me Tonight?
Seems like it misses a few bars...

Splendid sound and a whole new way of listening to one of the weirdest and greatest records of all time.

Well, my first two lines were a complaint, but yes....it's cheerful news! Lot's of details on SS that are totally new to my ears, but have been there all time!

That is what I hoped for! I had feelings that amidst the mono mix we all know and love ('67 vinyl) there had to be much detail 'hidden', to be or not to be discovered at some point in time. Luckily for us, it has come true. I bet this odd, whacky, short, and IMHO unjustly belittled album (the 'bunt') will be a major topic for discussion in various media, in the coming months.

I picked up a Japanese copy of SS a few weeks ago and love the newly exposed clarity.

Some of the tracks almost sound like different takes, so great is the difference (though I don't think they are).

Really looking forward to getting some of the other new-to-stereo stuff as I've been listening to the back catalogue a lot recently and really re-appreciating some of the 90s/00s mixes.  That said, I thought the 2001 Mark Linett mono work was outstanding anyway; this stuff should be mind-blowing.
