Has anyone heard and care to offer their opinion on the Sunflower or Summer Days reissues? I bought Today and Smiley Smile today but I'm really interested in these other two.

I have Summer Days. Mixed bag. I'd say buy it if you can find it for a good enough price (Best Buy has 'em for $10!), but I kind of wish it was better.

Girl Don't Tell Me is an extraction mix. A bit phasy.
Summer Means New Love is ok - missing some guitar, as noted in a thread here.

Smiley Smile sounds fantastic! Especially in the vocal department.
Some of the mixes on 50 Big Ones sound a LOT different in a good way. Check out Good Timing on 50 and then on MIU.

Help me Rhonda in stereo is definitely the big wiff of the set, but the mono has always been perfect anyway.  Let him run is beautiful though.

You're right about Rhonda in mono, that mix is one of the best I've heard ever of any band/artist. Let Him Run Wild sounds pretty identical to the Warmth of The Sun mix, though. Not a huge fan.

"Amusement Parks U.S.A." sounds great in stereo; the instrumentation is much more audible than on mono.  I previously thought of it as an enjoyable but lesser track on that album but hearing it this way is forcing me to reevaluate (as I did with "Salt Lake City" after hearing the instrumental version).

Listening to the new version of Isn't It Time on 50 Big Ones. The only change I really like is "Every time I DREAM of you..." because I think Al sounds great there.  But then Al sounds kinda sea-sick when he says "WANNA do" and I get mad at Mike.

Someone wanna edit a perfect "Gohi-mix" of Isn't It Time where Al says "dream of you" but still says "used to do?"
Thanks.

Stereo Today! is pretty amazing....not that we didn't have most of these tracks in Stereo thanks to recent compilations, etc, but hearing it all together is definitely an ear-opener. I always found the instrumentation on the mono version of that record to be mixed together too much (not enough separation).

I went to Walmart after work (no money at the moment, just wanted to see them and hold them in my hands), but they didn't have ANY of the new BB releases. Not even the 1-disc greatest hits.

I probably won't buy all of them next paycheck, but I at least want to try to get 50BO and 2-3 of the remasters (Sunflower and Surf's Up? Mmmm). I hope Best Buy still has them cheap next week.

My gf's also got Spotify, so I'll get to listen on there until then. Phew.

I got Today, Summer Days, and Smiley. After hitting the local shops I couldn't find them. I went to the city (Nashville) to get to Grimey's and they had them. I paid way too much for them ($16.45 per CD), but they're the only shop that had them. Guess I'll be eating bologna for awhile, but I don't care. THEY SOUND GREAT!!!!!

I think it's really funny that he's using Audacity.

Wonder what software he used for the actual extraction part - and here's hoping that it will be released commercially.
And yeah, any engineer/producer/etc with respect for themself uses Pro Tools Wink

I think it's really hoffifying that he's using Audacity.

Fixed. Logic, Pro Tools...whatever. Audacity? SERIOUSLY?

Now I get why I've heard fan mixes that sound better than the Smile box...
