I hope they bring the full stage over for the non-festival shows..

Maybe it's a money thing, I don't know

Cool concert story. On Live in London (1969,) Mike introduces Bluebirds Over the Mountain, en espagnol, as well.   Wink

You mean "espaņol"? I'm assuming "espagnol" is the Itailan way of spelling it...

I think we only have one board member who was going, and he was then going to travel to the other Spanish show. I suspect we'll get reports of both tomorrow.

There is a setlist up on setlist dot com now.  It's a pretty conservative setlist--nothing from Sunflower, only All This is That and Sail On Sailor from the entire early 70's period, no Pet Sounds, no I Just Wasn't Made For These Times, no Isn't It Time.  Maybe the Spanish fan base isn't too deep.  I'm thinking/hoping that they may shake things up more as they hit other parts of Europe.

Just for the record, that's not the Italian spelling either.

Hope the vid tribute shows up for Oslo. Even if it's pre-recorded I want to hear CW sing GOK. Brian cant sing it anymore it seems, perhaps only in accustic setting.

It's in the nature of those video tributes to be pre-recorded..  Grin

And I think Brian still is capable of singing GOK (his live performances reaching from 'okay' to 'channeling carl-inspired'). I'm content with 'okay' any day.

The Youtube video from this show has him singing it very well, actually...

To be honest, I don't particularly want to see the videos -- I can watch video of Carl and Dennis at home. It's the living members I've paid to see.

I can understand where you're coming from but it's really different once you've experienced it in person. It's not just watching the video, the whole band, incuding BB's, are performing WITH them. I watched Brian watching Carl on the big screen, missing his brother, it's something I'll never forget.

To me, it didn't even seem like I was watching a video. I was watching Carl and Dennis singing in front of me.

Yap. I guess anybody on stage would have preferred Mike to shut up and continue with the set by that point.  Grin They were kinda losing the crowd there for a moment. I'm curious to see what Mike's going to pull in Berlin.  Grin

39 Kokomo
40 Do You Wanna Dance
41 Fun Fun Fun

2 hours 4 minutes with no intermission and no big screen. The venue had no time restriction, but the outdoor location (placed in a beautiful mountain landscape) and the standing audience didn't help to include some deeper cuts I think.

Before the show I was able to get into the backstage with a friend, and it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life as I talked with all five Beach Boys and got signed my tour program.
Mike asked me if I knew the words for the spanish version of Kokomo (which of course I knew) and suddenly I was singing with him face to face while he was remembering the lyrics!! Then he sang one line in spanish at the show. He also joked with us about the Spain-USA basketball match in Barcelona and then made the same joke in front of the audience. So cool!!
Bruce chatted about surfin', we thanked Alan for his vocal in From There To Back Again on the new album, and David told us about his guitar playing on the song TWGMTR.
With Brian we only could shake hands as he wasn't too talkative.
Then we got off the backstage and enjoyed an incredible concert.

The day after the show we traveled to Barcelona by train and, what a coincidence, the band was in the same train!! We couldn't believe!! (There are some pictures in Mike's Facebook)

We were ready for the next show in Barcelona.

Me on the right with the tour program.

No. We were told by some tour manager to not bother on the train. But I saw Mike, Jeff, Nelson and Mickey in the cafeteria.
