Good morning, everyone.

Does anyone have a good copy of that famous picture of Brian Wilson holding a huge landscape photo of the Beach Boys? It's from the Pet Sounds era, black and white.

Thank you,

The biggest version I know is in the Badman book, and even there it is not that huge.  Sad Maybe someone could scan it for you - my scanner is crap, unfortunately.

EDIT: Bad scan, but anyway...: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_d1cIWUKbr5w/TG9uIc-t2xI/AAAAAAAABRY/y0THxsTByjs/s1600/TBB+Brian+with+photo.jpg

IIRC it's a mirror and not a picture of the boys

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Are you sure? That's the first time I hear that. Always thought that was Brian at his home in L.A., while the BBs are on the road somewhere. Looks like a blown-up photograph, not a mirror.  Huh

EDIT: Yeah, even says so in the Badman book... which doesn't mean it's true, though.

It's a mirror, you can see the reflection of Brian's knee in it.

LOL You're right. I had never noticed that... Well that picture just got a helluva lot more interesting...

Also I thought this pic was SMiLE era, not Pet Sounds...

Ah, so what you're describing is really deep:
The picture is a photo of Brian holding a mirror in which the rest of the BBs are standing across from him, thereby reflecting themselves in the mirror and also showing Brian's knee.
This is an enclosed couryard area at Brian's house with patio doors opposite each other?
I presume the photographer is standing to the left and behind the BBs?

Bruce could be holding the camera. The angle is right. He's the official tripod adjuster, isn't he?

A band called The Beach Boys are mostly going to be a fun in the sun-themed group. And that has, is, and will always be just as it should. There needs to be ONE classic band that isn't a pack of endless "artistic" moan. All people wanna do is make The Beach Boys into another Beatles they are less tired of.
And, for anyone who has actually experienced them, surfing and cars carry PLENTY of emotion and life experience. They can carry as much metaphor as any Van Dyke Parks clever epistle.

That was the first new photo of Brian I saw after the Holland lp and I was taken aback at the apparent weight gain and the heavy beard.
