Is it just the first set, or a composite of both?

Wonder why they don't have the full set...

It seems to feature songs from a number of different concerts, so it's not even an attempt at depicting a full show. Just an hourlong selection.

Apparently they're sampling a little from the Grand Prairie, Texas show from earlier on this tour..2nd show of the tour...at the 10 minute mark we get Bruce saying "Wow!  We must be in Texas!"

Also, the version of "Isn't It Time" is just the one from the record. With a few instrumental additions.

Everyone's vocals are canned.

Well, that's strange.

Still, just got to Surfer Girl, and if the stream didn't keep cutting out it'd be great!

Composite of both sets...I'm already at the car songs medley and we're at the 12 minute mark.  I hope they got "Heroes and Villians"...

Whoa what the hell happens during "409"?  The audience just completely drops out and it sounds like they're in a studio.

EDIT>..okay I'm pretty sure they just inserted the version of the Sirius performance into the mix.  Same with "Shut Down."   For whatever reason, they've segued right into the Sirius recording for part of the car medley.  Nothing wrong with that per se, they are technically sampling from the entire tour.  But they could've at least passed it off a little better.  The sloppy editing totally gives it away!  Had they faded out the audience less clumsily I wouldn't even have noticed.

That fodering sucks, btw - NPR are usually super cool with their concerts.

Besides that..... I do like the new guitar in the chorus...

Tweeted at them, btw. Wonder if they respond.

Also, RE: autotune....

BW is autotuned here. So is Mike. And I can only assume the majority of these are sourced from early shows on the tour...... where Joe Thomas was present. Do I smell a rat?

Either a rat, or a deal to produce a live album.

I like how Al can double track himself live! I knew he was a talented vocalist, but damn!

Why not use a tour version and supplement it with parts from the record instead of the other way around?

Brian sings his part better live.

Even Foskett's vocal is from the record. Hmmm.

....

Oh man, they even took all the vocals from the record on TWGMTR. Smh. Al sings his lines better now that he knows them well. C'mon Beach Boys people.

Effort would've been better spent melodyning (not autotuning) the live vox.

However.. I wonder if there's too much leakage in the tracks to be able to tune everyone individually.

I'm about 20 mins. in and I think that "Isn't it time" is indeed the studio version with additional overdubs. In fact I think this version is much better. The overdubs make this sound much fuller and Brian Wilson-like. This should be the single version

It's not being offered as a podcast.  Capitol is way too cheap for that.

I do as well; I hear Dave (I hope it is he) strummin' some lush power chords to move it along.  I don't know what sort of a hybrid song this is, but I like the feel; it has a live feel in places (perhaps just the echo, but it ends live--so odd.

Is there any way to get an mp3 rip of that version of "Isn't it Time"?

That's nothing. He nanages to double-track himself live *while singing a separate harmony part* a couple of times on the 'no vocal overdubs' Knebworth DVD/CD...

OK, I'm about 40 minutes into this 60 minute concert sampler, and I can't help but notice that Al (and Bruce) hasn't had a single lead vocal yet, other than a couple of lines in the new songs.  I guess I'm just an Al-advocate, but man, Al is a good sport at being treated as "less than" in the setlist decisions, album track inclusions, media appearances, etc. during this whole tour.  Al is so important in the harmony blend, and his lead vocals are stronger than anyone else's at this point, both live and in the studio.

.
Edit...OK close to the end...I guess Help Me Rhonda is Al's only lead...
